I don't think so. My friend bought that car about 2 years ago & it is now in California. He has since "hot rodded" it & it is an absolute beast now (Not that it wasn't before).
He just ran it at the silverstate classic & got it up to 197 MPH & said it was still pulling & had more to give.

The Elise is WAY more of a daily driver than a Ferrari, and that counts for a lot, IMHO.
I bought my 911 from a doctor who was buying an F430 as his daily driver.

My partner, is a test driver for Ferrari. And drives the newest and first in each class. I've been in all of them, and drove most of them. For every day pleasure the light weight normaly aspirated 4 pot Elise can't be beat. Everyone is all crazed over the Exige S, including myself. But if I could only have 1 car that I HAD to drive forever, it would be the 05 Elise. ( superchargers and turbo's are great, but it's like cheating ) like athlet's on steriods. And the biggest reason for my pick is not money or it being rare it's weight and feel, not speed. And it's not slow, it's faster then a Exige Sorry for grammer and spelling it's the Ketel 1

you know what, I agree with you. Especially in the case of NOS. However, my Merc has a SC on it and I don't really have any complaints. If I had a choice between the Exige and a 'S,' I would choose the NA Exige. I only wish there were more parts on the market to get 220/230 NA power out of the 2zz. I wouldn't mind dropping in a K20A motor. I've seen several K20As put out over 250 NA hp with typical mods and you'll save weight doing the swap also. I was even entertaining the thought of stripping the SC and ECU on the Exige S and selling it to use the money to make a more powerful NA motor.

Well...uh... the F40 goes to 11. It's one louder. That simple.

For all the people complaining about the looks of the F40, you really have to see one in person before you can judge. I agree that it looks "boy racer" in the pictures, but in person everything is in the right proportion. That wing and view of the rear is breathtakingly wide.
