A&Q about Lotus
Q:
I'm driving thorugh the valley and some teenage kids in a beat up chevy SUV decide it would be funny to paintball my elise as they drive by.
What the **** is wrong with people. Why do these stupid adolescents who won't amount to anything feel that its ok to vandalize other people's property. It just pissed me off.
There were 2 hits on the windscreen incase anyone is wondering. ****ing adolescents.
Pardon my language
:end rant

No, on second thought, don't.

It was a two lane road one in each direction. I was in traffic and there was nothing I could do. Damned indigent poor ass white trash
A:
Just get an LP # and call the cops. When I was in pilot training I would practice the phonetic alphabet by reading peoples license plates with the phonetic alpahbet now it makes memorizing a plate really easy, and useful at times.

Sounds like they've done this before. They picked a spot and time when their victim couldn't go after them. I'd report it to the police. Chances are someone may have made similar reports...and if you're lucky someone called in their license plate.

That blows ! But look on the bright side, the balls hit your windscreen and not a body panel ! They probably would have damaged the paint a bit. Those suckers can pack quite a wallop. And you should have called the cops on them, at least to give a description of the car. In California that would be assault with a deadly weapon under those circumstances. Cops would have taken that call pretty seriously most likely !

I had it happen to me in similar circumstances a couple of years ago (while driving my Miata). In my case, I have no doubt that they were aiming for my face, but luckily they mis-judged and it hit my side mirror. Unfortunately, I didn't see who had done it - by the time I realized what had happened, they were already around the bend.
I called the cops, and they came over to the house in an hour of so - I only reported it so that they would be on the lookout. After the cops left, I washed off the paint and discovered a problem. The paintball paint, although water soluble, was softening the paint underneath. If I had left it on longer, the paint would have been permanently damaged. Wash that stuff off as soon as you can.
By the way, I every state I've check (most likely all of them), throwing something at a moving car (that includes paintballs) is a felony, so the police take it seriously. Unfortunately, as the cop was saying, the kids that did it are probably minors, and they will get off with a slap on the hand, and it will be erased from there record in a couple of years.

I would have hunted them down and shove that paint gun up their @sssss pardon my language.

True but the parents would be held accountable if you sue them for a tort. The damages may not be much but dragging the parents to court will really piss them off. Hopefully, it rolls down hill.
A:
they are jealous. (spelling?). i had someone throw a soda on my esprit when i was parked at a hockey game in philly. then someone spit on it when i was having dinner in the city. i really pissed me off. i would have beat some a.. if i caught them. i hope it does not happen to my elise. i am not one to take up two parking spots or park on a diagnal to annoy people. i just drive it and park it.
A:
what a bunch of little f*cks. That is considered assault.
A:
we have a better class of hoodlums around here, someone ditched a venti starbucks mocha out the window at us once. Had it had raspberry syrup i'd have appreciated it more.

The answer to paint baller vandals!!
Chris

If they paintball me that gives me the right to retaliate in more ways than one:
j/k! It's time to call the cops and let the law handle 'em.
BTW...I know you have already but I thought I should mention that paintball fill and the outer hard gelatin casing is bad for car paint, it should not be allowed to stay on your car's paint as it will cause discoloration.

Bobcat? SW? HK94? Let me know if you ever want to part with it - even if it is on a Form 1.

Unfortunately adolescents don't use the same thought process we adults do. To steal a quote from Judge Judy; "their brains aren't fully cooked yet". Of course it could well be their brains are completely "fried". Who knows. Anyway it sucks that they don't get it.

Unfortunately - and frustrating for the police and victims alike - a lot of them do get it. They are minors. Half the crap that they do is written off as "youthful exuberance", and the other half barely gets punished with a slight slap on the wrists (it's not their fault, they are just children... ).
The reality is that even if they do get caught, nothing much will happen to them, so their culture sees things such as vandalism as a "cheap thrill".

Yeah, I saw on the news one night some teens had dropped a fairly large rock off of an overpass just for giggles. The rock ended up going through the windscreen and hitting a middle aged woman in the face/neck. She lost half her face and nearly died.
Oh, and to the paintballer victim, I would have figured out a way to spin around and chase them down and kill them.
