Reg, you obviously know everything about the car rental business. Especially how it functions in Illinois. I am quite sure you are aware of Illinois House Bill 0844, more commonly known as the Renters Financial Responsibility and Protection Act.

I do know that renting a car like the Elise is fraught with problems and that Budget is a company I wouldn't deal with again. I travel a great deal and Budget WAS the company I used for 15 years or more. They left me sitting in an airport jerking me around. I have no doubt they'd jerk around a poor schmuck that rented an Elise and totalled it with no insurance.

I don't plan on saying any more on this subject as I don't plan on getting banned from this site, but this sounds like a bad idea.

Because I'm sure you were an expert elise driver on the day you took your car home from the dealer.

Yet before Zen can even respond, Larry says this in two seperate posts. You don't know him, do you? Yet you are already judging and running your mouth.

That's B.S. and you know it.
Since when is this a vendor's forum at all?
Because the people who sell FI kits, exhausts, headers, et al never post here at all (can't find the rolling eyes smiley)

And to see them broken all over town so he can make a buck?

I love the elise too, but 2500 isn't so small of a production number per year. Just look at all the elises that are still sitting on dealer lots. I drive by Ascot every day and I don't think I have ever seen less than 6 elises/exiges in the lot. Enzos are true examples of cars that shouldn't be rented. 400 cars made ever and all pre-sold is something rare. 2500 per year and not all sold isn't.

Don't get me wrong, I think these cars are very nice and should be treated with care, but if someone wants to rent one, they can do whatever the hell they want with it.

I don't really have the sunlight fogging/outgassing problems, but when raining I've certainly had my windshield fog up with normal condensation within seconds of getting in the car. The AC vented at the windshield clears that up pretty fast. The first time I had the problem I left the AC blasting on the windshield and ironically it made it so cold that it started fogging up on the outside between wiper strokes -- at least I'm pretty sure that's what was happening. So I usually switch the AC on and off to find the right windshield temperature balance, then switch to vending it at the side windows to clear those up, and by this point things are usually stable and will stay clear all around.

I think that the RENTER will sign his papers and be sent merrily on his way without ANY warning about ANYTHING.

It's dangerous and foolish to RENT this car.
Ironically this appears to have happened to you, as an OWNER. Being a renter does not automatically make one one a moron behind the wheel, nor does being an owner make one an expert.

I think Larry is a little boy. He has no idea of what a supercar is. He may think an Elsie is the top of the heap, but he is so wrong. My Miata is so much of a better car.....and at a lot less money. I drive my Miata 90% of the time and my Viper the other 10%. Both could wear his Elsie out without a doubt.

Zen Garage is a good guy and if anyone doubts it try him out in Chi Town. I challenge Larry (the loser) to bring his little boy Elise anywhere and I will meet him and wear his gay ass out.

The Elise is a good rental car because it is so much of a pile of ****e. I challange any gay boy out there to meet me anywhere in the USA and try to beat me in my Miata or my Viper.

Larry sucks the Devil.
