A&Q about Lotus
Q:
Jer....great color, looks amazing!! Best of luck. Hmmm, I hope my Storm Titanium looks as good...
A:
damn, Bordeaux looks nice! Damn, you guys are lucky!
hardtop makes the car look really slick.
A:
Chris, I think my graphic equalizer is not on. That should really improve the sound. Also, the hard top was left at the dealer. I'll go back in my jeep this weekend and get it. The soft top takes about 30 seconds to install and is a snap after the first time.
I have to say, y'all, that I have a permanent grin on my face. After five 1/2 years of longing, and every auto rag on the globe bragging about it, it still:
1) looks way better in person than in pictures;
2) handles and accelerates (and brakes) better than imagined;
3) and gets more attention than you could ever believe.
I'm truly in heaven. I promise you it's worth the wait.
A:
Jer, did you sleep in the car last night ? I think I might, that's probably the only way I'll be ABLE to sleep, I'll probably be so wound up. Not that I really should be worrying about this, it's still a way's off (how long ? who knows ! DOOMED ! )
Congratulations again, man !
A:
It's worth the wait. And I drove until after midnight. Just couldn't help it.
A:
Mark Starr, thanks for Tuesday's post of the beautiful pics of the ST demo (I also enjoyed the Watkins Glen bonus shots of the Exiges). Confirms my color choice!
A:
Surfer,
After you said the equalizer thing I went out with the manual. This is an incredible stereo, it even comes with a microphone to automatically set the equalizer or you can use presets. Interestingly the preset "Disco" equalizer seem s to sound best with the blues.

Many times using the loudness button helps as well. I am sure the Lotus system will suffer from poor low frequency response when the volume is set at the lower range.

Chris
The blues?! You just got an Elise!!
A:
First cd song I played in my Elise and very appropriate-
"Got my mojo working" by Muddy Waters!!!!!!!!!

from fvmc at msrp; originally #7 but bumped
up for non-LSS.
drove 400 miles home.

please post pics of saffron as soon as you get a chance - that's my color!

Thank you so much for my new desktop image! That is (or will be when it arrives) exactly what my car will look like. It's been forever since we've seen any car painted Bordeux.
A:
zor,
That is a great shot really captures the color, too bad it's got the hardtop on and the sun is shining.
Chris
A:
Chris, that's mine before I had them take the top off. I need to go back and get it tomorrow!! That's a good rep of the color in the sun.
On the stereo-I tried the disco preset, but there's not enough base in any of the settings for me. I think I'm missing something, or I'm getting a small subwoofer. All that said, I have the radio off 75% of the time.
A:
surfer, did you look in the blaup manual for setting your equalizer? I did, made all the diff. But the small cockpit and restrictiion to where the speakers can go is the problem.
But you can set up automatically using the little mic it has or you can do it manually, they have a chart as to how to set up manual depending on the sound. As you say, I didn't have nearly enough bass. much better now. Equalizer instruction begin on 31, with manual info and chart on 33-35.
Should help.
Chris
