I'm trading mine as soon as the value reaches the lease balance. I'm hoping it's sooner than the end of my 4 year lease but I doubt that it will be. I'll never own another Nissan again because of this.

He mentioned that the car is selling like crazy just as fast as people turn them in for trade on another vehicle. The main reason of course that we all know about is feathering. However, also suffering from other lemon flaws with transmissions,window motors, serious radio issues, etc.
These two statements together make no sense. They're selling like crazy BECAUSE of the problems? What exactly are you trying to say?
Whenever I go to Nissan for service I always see a slew of new and late model used Zs on the lot. The GM is feeding you a line of bullshit, just like all dealerships do with customers. If you think about it I think you'll realize that for his statement to be true there can be NO used and NO new Zs on the lots. And there are, plenty of them.

He means that they're selling them new just as fast as they're taking in used ones on trade for other cars. They're going out as fast as they come back in.

They may sell fast at a Nissan lot but on the major road I live near, the Chevy, Ford, and Pontiac dealers all have a used Z sitting in the grass by the street...they all have been sitting for months.

Look at the $. Nissan is awash with cash is GM in the toilet. If what the
dealer salesman said was true, GM would not be in this financial shape.
I am not defending Nissan, just looking at the numbers. If the trend continues, Toyota will be number 1 and GM and Ford will be in chapter 11 or 7 in 5 years.
I just finished my service survey about " my experience " with the local
dealer. It took them 3 weeks to "consider" servicing the tire problem (while they kept the car )and another 3 weeks to order and install the "new" refurbished radio.
I have had all the mentioned problems except transmission. I can hardly
wait. So far: power window, gas fill door, radio and of course tire cupping.
I still enjoy driving my Z. Figure!

Well after doing some reading here on the 350z forum I have decided some people are morons. Why would you buy a car if the feathering problem has been around. I mean... I like 350's, I am a HUGE fan of Z's, but why buy a car you know or could have found out has a major problem? I would buy one if I had the money and knew that problem was fixed, sadly I am only 16 so a 350 is NOT in my future real soon. I have not had a SINGLE problem with my 280, nor have we had problems with our 94 Sentra that we drove to Florida from Michigan. Not ONE. I personally have been quite satisfied with Nissan cars. New cars have issues, wait a few years to get a new modeled car, this is what I have ALWAYS heard and will do when I start to look for a "new" car.
Just my 2 cents if anyone cares.

Some people have a deep passion for automobiles. I know I do! On the bad side; I have ruined my z by putting bad mistakes on it. However, I am almost to the completion point of making it perfect. The final body kit is on order, and that is it. Then I will turn to engine mods. Probably stillen.

You need to come to grips that Nissan is not going to fix a problem that, to them, doesn't exist. Get used to replacing those tires every 5K because that's what you're in for.

As usual, absolute statements like the above are wrong. My '05 has 10K+ miles, and I noticed feathering on the outside edge of only the left front tire at 9000. The feathering has gotten "worse" (I can feel it, not see it), and the alignment is perfect (checked twice). But no noise, no downsides at all. From the wear I see now, I should get the same mileage out of the fronts as the rears...probably in the 20K range, which is normal for the HiPo tires on my other cars based on my driving style and area.
Some Z owners may have to replace their front tires at 5000 mile intevals, but certainly not all of them. Sounds like sour grapes to me. ;^)

No, it's not wrong. He has an 03 with the original tread patterns not an 05 with the new tread patterns.
And yes, it is sour grapes. I'm really pissed that Nissan has gotten away with producing a great car with a HUGE problem today. Feathering also happens a lot sooner than when you hear it or feel it.

bought 05 a while ago...has 7000klm...tires look as good as the day i drove out of the dealership..... As far as taking advice from a GM dealer concerning a Nissan car....... These clowns obviously want you out of the z and into what...........cavalier...... or any other piece of crap that they build, I am sure that GM has a few skeletons in there closet as well.
Got a 72..240z original.... 10 miles on engine........ a 77 280 .V-8 conversion....... 05 350z..... lighten up guys ..wait till the goverment tells us we all have to ride the bus because of the enviroment....
