Solo Baric L7 install

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I definately a fan of maximizing the sound potential. I've posted pics of my set up a few times on here. There are always a few people that say "why would you do that?". Forget them. It's all a matter of preference. I would definately get the windows tinted ASAP. I've already come out on 3 different occassions with people trying to break into my baby to get at all my stereo stuff. Get it insured. Other then the tint and the insurance, keep up the good work. Did you upgrade the head unit and interiors yet?

that's pretty nice man VERY WELL DONE...very clean look... i love rockford fosgate... that would have been one of my top choices in equipment when i was laying out my design...

i'm thinking of either Infinity mids and tweets or the Full Kicker speaker system... i definately want to find some 6.5s for the rear that have built in tweeters (ex. 3-way) so i can get some definition back there... i always think it sounds that much better if you got mids and highs coming from all directions... since the bass sounds like it's all over the place too...

i haven't changed the HU yet... cause the one i'm looking for is like $1500...Eclipse AVX 2494... and then seperate 7.5 inch screen in the navigation compartment...for DVD... it's just too plain with nothing there...

but i am just trying to finish one thing at a time...

also for a question... i was told by mobile sound that since the impedance (Ohms) for my subs were 2 and not 4 ohms per sub that they would not be able to draw the full power from the amp...so basically my amp is pushing its 1200 but the subs are only able to comprehend 600 of it... this is seriously causing my 12s not to sound as loud as they should... s this true and is there a way around it?

if not then i am already searching for a buyer locally to get my money back and purchase the correct ones...

anybody know about this please let me know...

doesn't look too bad man. i like your choice of subs man. i got the new L7's for my Z. i got the ten inch ones though and got a hell of a deal on then. i am in the process of putting them right behind the seat. you know right where the glove box and the optional bose ten inch speaker goes. i figure this way i have all my trunk space and still maintain a hidden look and stock to the eye. i have had these subs for about two weeks and i am rackin my brain on how i am gonna do this. if i knew how to post pics, i would show you what i came up with so far. keep up the good work no matter what anyone says. but they are really noticeable and do tint the windows. i got mine tinted for $110 and that is everything but windshield. cheaper than what most people think. later justin

umm... Justin i thought about that location too... and here was the problem... the amount i have spent so far... would have gone for the enclosures THEMSELVES... i was quoted 1200 dollars to do that...

reason being... they would have to cut out a hole to match the sub air requirement... then lay fiberglass (about 7 layers and one at a time) and it takes like 16 hours for 1 layer to completely dry... then do the mounting... after it all it would take a week and have a rediculous price attached...(but it would be done RIGHT) but i didn't do it...

But if you have someone that can do an exceptional job at a reasonable price i would definately go for it... what i was looking to do is get another stock bose sub cover and place it on the passenger side...

Also to post pics... make an account (free) with Photobucket.com upload your pictures on there and copy and paste the IMG (image) links they provide you with... then when you post your image will appear just like your text...

i've done some research on your mounting method... and can give you a little info on the install

but that's what i like about mobile sound i just tell them what i want and they do it... and they do up front worst case senario pricing... they quoted like 750 for just my install but came out to $653...

lets try this out here. this is when i was just starting to get goin on it. i still gotta load the pics from my camera to give you more, but you know what i was goin for. this is the ony reason why i didn't get 12" subs, cuz of the airspace issue. enjoy if it works.

I have alpine type R interiors right now. I will eventually upgrade them to MB Quarts. I have always been a fan of the Fosgate product. This is my second set up using them. That eclipse set up is nice. I looked at eclipse HU but then I went with the Pioneer AVIC 6.5 touch screen in dash dvd with a seperate dvd drive and 6 disk changer in the "glove box". Leaves that navi compartment empty to hold my sunglasses and fast lane.

I have a 95 maxima if i have alot of stuff to take, or I just throw it in front of the amp rack. At 6'2 i dont have a prayer of actually using the rearview mirror at any point.

I'm not sure about the massive speaker rack, myself (the music I like doesn't need the heavy bass support, after all) but it looks like it was well done. I second the window tint & insurance recommendations, too.

What was the guy smoking when he told you they laid one layer of 'glass at a time? Every time I've made a fiberglass (or Kevlar, or carbon) part, you do the entire layup in one go, unless you're making a "solid" part like a bookend, when the "L" shape is one lay, the other side of the box is a second, and the bottom is a third. It's a real b!tch to do when you're working a large area (the epoxy wants to set before you're done), but it's do-able (still not cheap, tho)

i don't know what he means b/c i don't work with fiberglass he just told me how much and how long... my car would be in the shop for about a week...ugh...
