A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I am new to the whole turbo and tuning thing. I am interested in getting the aps tt for my 350z. Should I do anything to prepare for the tt, or is it safe to get it installed without any modifications?
A:
you'll probably want a less restrictive exhaust for starters...but a TT install is a pretty big commitment and will cost about 10K with installation and tuning. For starters I'll refer you to www.my350Z.com, and do a search for APS TT and theyll be hundreds of threads where you can read up about it.

Youll need to decide what level of performance you want. The APS TT kit will work on the stock engine with a bigger exhaust and give you a 450 HP daily driver which will most likely last 100,000 miles.
500 is the limit of the stock bottom end, although there are reports of 550 HP on the web. After 500 it opens the can of worms, as in you need fuel system upgrade, engine upgrade etc. etc. etc.
Ive been planning on the APS kit with custom turbos since I got my new job, and right now its going to be a 2 year project due to both cost and lead time on parts. If you want more than 500 HP, plan on $15,000 with an additional $1000 for every 100 HP above that up to 1000HP.
If you want a blow your doors off daily driver, build a $20,000 1000 HP turbo and engine package and detune it to 700 ish. Thats the only way to get it to last any amount of time. Good luck, and in two years Ill be there to race you.
