A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I pop those little screws all of the time.
Short answer: Pull the center of the faster up then pull the fastener out.
Long answer:
The best way is to use a flat screwdriver and lift the center part of the fastener a little. You only want to lift it about a 1/4". If you lift the center too far it will come out go too far and relock.
Once you have the center portion up that 1/4 inch take your finger and pull up on the edges of the outer most part of the fastener straight up.
If your panels were lined up it will pop right out. Most of mine popped right out the last one wasn't so lined up so I slide a flat screwdriver with electrical tape around it to make sure it didn't scratch the bumper cover.
Good luck .... it easy after the first one.
When replacing the fasterner look real close to the fastener. Once again the center should only be lifted about 1/4". Try to press the side tangs (can't think of a better word for it) It should reduce nicely. You might have to play with it a bit.
Insert the fastener with the center portion still raised and after it is inserted all the way down, push down on the center section until it stops. The fastener is now locked.
This might be a bit long but, I wanted to make it as clear as possible for you.

That's the way it is with cars. Not that hard once you know.
I had someone point me towards a website a week or so ago to help with a brake pad change.
Just like this, once you know it's a piece of cake. :)

Cut and paste this one in your browser and thank DaddyPhatSaks for posting it up:

You really only have to take loosen both pins and take out the lower one however. You just swing the Caliper up and out of the way to replace the pads. Then you use a small C-Clamp in the center of the concave piston to open up the caliper spacing a little to clear the rotor so the new pads will slide by.
I installed EBC Greenstuff Pads and love them. Better braking- No Fad and the claim are they brake as good as stock Brembos. I'm not sure about that however. They do not squeal, almost no dust(very low) and they last longer than Hawk according to road race drivers.
I am very happy with my EBC's. I bought my EBC greenstuff's from Courtesy Nissan. They are really good folks:

Just take it easy on them for the first 500 miles and brake them in properly. By this I mean seat them. 4-5 medium stiff (not hard) braking from 40-45mph one minute apart. Then, drive without slaming on the brakes for 300-500miles and your set.
Do not forget to lube the slides and springs. That helps the squeal that a lot of people have been experiencing. That is the right way to do it I am told. It worked for me and I am extremely pleased with the brakes now.
Now if I could only figure out how to get the short shifter to work with the stock shift knob. It vibrated so bad I had to pull it out. However, the stock shifter is better than many short shifters manufactured for other cars so it's not a big deal. I am sure I will figure that one out.
No responses from posts I have put here except .... You bought junk.
I ask them if they are using the stock shifter knob and the ones that respond say ..... No aftermarket..... Duh I know that works.
I think the best way to do this is to drill out and epoxy wood in ther to thread to. The wood would absorb the noise. Done before .... I just have to buy another factory shift knob before I give this a try.
Have fun with your Z .....
