Has anyone found a fix for the trunk rattle/chirp

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I am also very tired of the interior rattles and vibrations. That's why I am seriously thinking of getting out of my lease and into something else. I only blame the fact that the car is a first year model. I'm not bitter at all, but I will be more observant when shopping for a new vehicle.

The tires roaring contribute to the vibrations which casue the rattles. After I got new fronts, all the rattles went away - 10,000 miles later on f.......thered tires the rattles are back.

The only rattle I had was windshield to dash rattle. A little rubber betwen the two and it is history.

I agree, a car without rattles drives a lot better.

A car without brake dust is awesome. GBC Greenstuff.

These are the only two complaints I have had on my '04.

No sign of tire feathering. The dealer did an alignment right off the bat and the tires are perfect at 8K. Since I only expect a 180 Treadwear to last 20K or so I'm feeling pretty smug right now.

I LOVE my Z.

I'll have to say other than my Pathfinder I have not bought a new car with less problems. Pathfinder=0, Z=2

I had the rattle in the trunk, the mechanic took the bar connecting the 2 struts together (in the trunk) apart and stuffed it with foam. One less squeak in the car.

I also had the "glass like" rattle around the dash/passenger seat, try gripping the passenger sunvisor and it's mirror. Dealer replaced the sunvisor; but maybe a bit of thin foam between it and it's mirror would also work.

But the tire noise - especially from the rears makes this the loadest car I've ever driven - even though my fronts arn't feathered right now! I can't use my bluetooth earpiece on my cellphone cause it's just too loud in the car.

Has anyone had success with dynomat or whatever to quite down the interior?

Hey clearwaterZguy what do you expect, your car is an '03 with over "39,000+ miles" it's not new anymore. Rattles and "metalic mosquitos" will happen to anycar as they get older dont blame nissan or the Z for something that will happen to anycar.

I know my car is not new anymore, that's why I want to get another one. That's also the main reason I lease. It's just that I'm getting out of the Z about 18 months early because I can't take the frustration anymore.

Plus I have or had just about every single "bug" ever mentioned on this forum from grease streaks, 3rd gear grind, and the trunk lid not opening on the 1st try. Again, I'm not bitter towards Nissan. As a matter of fact, I'm looking at the '05 Pathfinder. And I'll probably drive that for 2 or 3 years until I get bored with it.

My 1999 Maxima has almost 80K miles with no rattles and everything still working like new. Best car I have ever had. All the 350Z problems are very discouraging. If not for that, I would be bugging my wife for one.
