this morning on my way to work with a mazda rx8

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I have a 2004 RX-8 MT, and I will say that the Z is the faster car. But it also depends on who is driving not just the performance of the car. I've gone up against a Mustang GT and by every right I should not have won, but I did. It all depends on how suicidal a person wants to get on public roads. That and if it was a automatic RX-8 that you went up against, then pretty much a mini-van could beat it. If you came up to me, I would give your Z a run for it's money because I know how to drive my car. Just a thought. It seems like one person can go up against another and instantly declair that it's the supieror car, when more often than not, it's the driver behind the wheel. Of course, the 8 wasn't made to be a drag racer, put the 8 and a Z on a twisty track and see who comes out first. The Z would be hard pressed to win.

I remember the 350Z, S200, and RX-8 comparo Motor Trend did where they specifically mentioned the RX-8 didn't win a single performance test.

More than likely on most road courses the 350Z will win. Even when Edmunds did their comparison between the 350Z and RX-8, although the RX-8 won the comparo, the first thing they mention is that the Z had the faster times and most likely on the road course too.

Maybe if the course consists of no straights and pure tight turns then the RX-8 probably would have the advantage. But you know those kind of tracks are in the majority huh...

Almost bought a RX8..I test drove the RX fiirst then I went to the Nissan dealer and test drove the Z...After that it was Z hands down. And yes I drove the a-t RX and the m-t. The a-t RX is like driving a VW.. Just my opinion, for what-ever its worth. :)

How can you say I'm being sensitive when I already stated that the Z was the faster car? I wanted to buy a car you didn't see on every block and that was one of a kind and has the highest rpm red-line of any stock car made.

Added: The comment wasn't meant to say that the Z is inferior, people buys cars for different reasons. The Z was my second choice when I was looking. But opted for the 8. Anyone that wants to find out more can goto http://www.rx8club.com/

Yeah, let's rev the piss out of the motor to make what little power there is.
