A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Since I owned a Grand Prix GTP/Comp G, naturally I signed on the the Club GP site. Well anyways I went on the forum to make a post stating that I was leaving and that I had to send my Grand Prix packing. One thing that I have noticed between their forums and our forums is that they are obssesed with staright line speed and have to tell the world about the kills they make with their GP's or GXP's where as here I dont hardly ever hear anyone talking about what other cars they beat out on the road. The GP is not a sports car but they are trying to justify it as one by the kills they have. Anways its some interesting reading if you want to check it out here is the link. The thread is titled Good Bye.

i dont usually like to slander other cars, enthusiasts are enthusiasts no matter what you own but a grand prix is not a sports cars. some of the later models are pretty quick though. with that said i mean what really are you going to talk about with a grand prix it's a sedan with a little american muscle tossed in. you arent going to the auto-X or winning best looking awards. I cant imagine the car being very tossable around corners or anything. So i guess when you can beat another car at a stoplight its nice. I dont mod my car and have 0 ambition to go head to head with anyone. lets face it there are alot of other cars out there that are as quick as our Z's but I revel in the overall package. I would think that those guys dont really have a wonderful overall package, so if straight line is what they value then so be it.

Hey, I am sorry for resurecting this, but I'm looking for a particular Z driver, and wanted to take the time to comment on this post. Yeah, there are idiots all over. Recently, while driving down some back roads to go home in my GTP Comp G, I ran into a 350Z driver. The speed limit was 35, he was going between 25-30. Well, a couple times I got a little close, but kept backing off, trying to keep the three second rule between us. He gets over into a turn lane, and I accelerate by. I pushed the throttle down deep enough that I got about 75% boost, and looking back, I would imagine, if he was indeed turning there, that he probably thought I was being a dick, but I was honestly just speeding up (it's a fun road, what can I say :P ). Anyway, he gets back over, and rides my a$$. I mean rides it to the point that he's probably a foot or so from my bumper. I take off, and put distance on him right away. I had it in manumatic mode, so it was easy to go to second and take off. At anyrate, as we come into corners, I back off, as I don't want to fly off the side of the road, as it is dark out. Occasionally, he tries to drop out and pass me..in a double yellow line area..and I accelerate and put a stop to that. Now, whenever I see approaching lights, I back down to just above the speed limit as I see no need to involve anyone else in this. So we come around this corner, and I see tail lights moving ahead, so I back down. At this point he passes me and about two or three other cars in a double yellow line, and on a bridge. Like the guy above said, there are idiots all over. I have said time and time again, the worst thing that happened to the Grand Prix community was that these cars hit the used cars lots and were cheap enough for kids to get ahold of. When I first signed up on ClubGP, the attitude the original poster ran into didn't exist. These engines are solid, and have a history (something most of the kiddies that now reside on clubGP don't care about). Please don't judge all of us on clubgp based on the few idiots that posted there. ClubGP is getting to be like ClubSi, filled with ricers, liars, and trolls. I go there into the 04+ section because the kiddies haven't gotten their hands on these models yet. When they do, I will move up to another model anyway, if not the new camaro or GTO. At anyrate, my point is that GTP owners shouldn't be judged on a whole. What's worse for clubgp is that they are really the only forum for the GP, while there are several for the 350z cars, so we are pretty much stuck with ALL the GP idiots on one forum. You guys at least get the mspread out. At anyrate, that was all I wanted to say, that not all of us are jerks like that. Would I take a 350z? No. For the class it's in, I find there are far better sports cars for the price. It's a nice looking car, don't get me wrong, just not (as someone said) for me.
