Well, there you go. The weird rain related problem I have experienced (Z car juju dated 20 April) has been solved. I know all of you Z heads have been worried sick for me, so I just had to get the word out. Now you can sleep tonight.
Yesterday on the way to work, the car started the jumping thing, except this time the engine wanted to die. I was forced to pull off the road as I noticed my ‘service engine soon’ light, and my ‘slip’ light were on (TCS off). After trying several times to restart, I gave up and called AAA.
Armed with this additional data (code PO335), Skeeter, the mechanic at the local dealer, realized the crankshaft position sensor was the culprit. The old sensor was removed and packed up and sent to the Nissan parts morgue for an autopsy.
