Squeaks and rattles

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Nissan TSB02-122? It pertains to the repair of Interior Squeaks and Rattles and dates back to 2002. I have looked at the TSBs posted on the 350motoring.com site but there is no link to the actual document. It only references it. Does anyone know what the repair entails?

The TSB probably will not help you as it does not address specific repairs for all of the possible squeaks and rattles.

I had a rattle where the passenger side air bag is, that became more noticible about 5mph when the front tires feathered (of course). The Nissan Dealer in Westlake Village (CA) performed this TSB but it still rattled on cold mornings with high front tire pressure. At 35.5k miles my service rep, Julie, said she would have her best mechanic try once again before the 36k warranty ran out. It took him 2 days since he had to take the dash apart and put foam all around. But it was worth it! When I went back to give him a $20 tip, I told him it was like the woman who didn't know her husband drank until one day when she saw him sober. It's so great to have a quiet new ('03) car! These things rock!

Rattles are a fact of life with a car. Doesn't matter if you buy a $100k Mercedes. If nothing is horribly clanking around like it's going to fall off... live with it... the car will develop more of 'em the older it gets.

I hate rattles. I chase everyone of them. Cloth side of velcro, vacuum hose material, silicone spray, silicone adhesive sealer and felt have helped me out a lot.
