WEll guys, I really need more education! I bought that kit on ebay for 1250. The veilside version 3 kit, and its fake. It is a piece of ****! I feel like even more of a moron now. Any ideas on how not to be a stupid ****? j/k
Check it out guys, you can notice that it appears to be Veiside, but just states that it is Version 3. GOd, I feel so shitty! But, we learn from are mistakes, this one cost me 2300! I truely am a moron! Time to join Army.

Damn, that's an expensive mistake. You're handling it a lot better than I would have. The faux v3 would be firmly lodged in the seller's ass if I was in your shoes.

yep that sucks, i thought you said you knew the seller or something though. Have you contacted them? it does not say Veilside in the add at all though so there may not be much you can do. you should have been a little wary with a reserve of $900 though. the real kit goes for atleast twice that. Anyways, i hate to knock you after such a tough loss but posting that link on a few forums before you purchased it would have saved you alot of $$ and hassle. With such a big investment why not do a little more research. Have you ever been to my350z.com? if your ever thinking of buying anythig for your car again, make sure people more knowlegeable than yourself approve of it or would buy it themselves. id like to see some pics of the kit though, is it that bad?

try to contact the seller. Don't shut the door! From his feedback he seems like a good guy, but has had trouble with people that don't communicate their problems. Contact him and explain. Maybe he will give you your money back.

I agree with you digital! I already have the kit on my car, painted and all. I didn't know about body kits that much to the point where they actually make replicas/fakes. So today, I have just been in complete shock. It seems like everything that I have tryed to do to my Z, has cost me. =(.

Guys this is my first sports car, and I love it so. I just got carried away and stupid thinking that I need to make more that what it is. I really do feel horrible though about what I have done. I would like to put a kit on it though just to make is not look so plain. I am kinda of a young man, and pretty much a need of learning young man. Its very frustrating, I put alote money into my Z, and I just have screwed it up and lost money. I am going to get an authentic Version 3.kit after I resolve this issue with the fake. People actually prefer to buy replicas because they are cheaper than retail, but not me. I found out the hard way, my rims are being re-chromed at a plating shop. I hope they come back to me ok, and not ****ed up. Maybe it this area, I need to find a professional auto shop that does body work and such. I would like to put a stillen supercharger in my Z under that veilside kit. I am not sure which turbo I am talking about. Its the one that sits on top of the engine? Alote of you guys are very negative, but alote of you guys are right. I wish I hadn't made so many mistakes with my hard earned money. I just try to keep a positive look on things, but damn, things are shitty lately. I really like the looks of the version 3 kit, and guys it looks great in person. Seriously it does. At first I thought oh my god, but it is a really nice quality product, my friend has one in michigan, and his veiside looks fantastic. BUT we learn from are mistakes. I just ****ing keep making them. hmmm.

all i can really say is SLOW DOWN. you made mistakes, dont tell us how much you regret something or how sorry you are, just learn from them and dont make them again. do what you want, its your car.
in one sentence you talk about a supercharger. in the next, a turbo, the one that goes on top. you sound like you have no clue what you arre talking about when it comes to engine things so if i was you id take a break from making it look "better" and focus on learning as much as possible about the mechanics of it.

FOrgive me Zbull, I was looking into the Stillen kit that goes ontop of the engine. I don't think its a turbocharger. I have not reall gave it much thought yet, but for the future maybe I will look into it.

read...just read. online about mods. it isnt very difficult. you want to learn about mods go to my350z.com. You dont need to learn the technicalities of mods or how a turbo or supercharger works. just read posts about products that people have bought. you'll see a recurring theme about which stuff gets good reviews and which products people are continually buying/reviewing. find something that fits your budget, read the positives and negatives, which there is with most mods. How much power does it make? how heavy is it? what does it actually do? where can i get it at a good price from a reputable vendor? how much is the install is it DIY? And lastly post there. its real easy. "hey im thinking about buying (insert product here) what do you guys think. any problems with it? etc. etc.".....you should get some quality responses. If not they have a search function and its very helpful. you are not going to find great mod advice or experience on this forum. although weve tried to help but to no avail.

solidus - All that I can say is that if a good education cost a lot of money, you are getting one heck of a education. ;) I can't tell you how much money I wasted with trail and error methods. I come up with some pretty tight stuff sometimes and it is unique. I still think it is worth it so sometimes you just have to taste something to see if it is any good.
That's OK! We sometimes give you a tough time here. However, if you didn't share it with us we wouldn't learn either. Even though most of the time I wouldn't do what you have done to your car. You wouldn't have liked some of the things I have done to some of my cars I am sure.
Keep experimenting ... It is the scientific mind at work. Frankly, there are not enough people out there living on the edge. I'm just glad you have the money for the education.
I think you should try to custom up something different from that V3 fake kit and you'll learn how to match panel with parts that do not exactly fit.
Now that is a art that not everyone can do. Just to bolt it up and paint it doesn't take as much as it does to customize something.
