A&Q about 350Z
Q:
tell your roadster Z saleman. Bilstien coil overs and 18" standard..think I will order on tomarrow. Let you know how the tires wear
A:
you will look cute in it im sure. another quality product from the people that proudly brought you the fiero.
can't think of another car that i have seen lately that is more of a chick car. so, really, shouldn't you be posting at the forum over at cutecarsareme.com?
make sure and wave at the other guys driving the miatas.
A:
I think the car looks great. If anything, the Miata is way more "feminine looking" than the Solstice.
The Solstice has a kind of retro look at the front. Reminds me of the classic Corvette in a way. Not a bad price either. The more powerful F/I version is supposed to have about 253HP. Not bad for a car that weighs ~2900 lbs.
Granted, I still like the looks of the Saturn Sky better though. I bet both of these cars will do very well for GM.

It's pretty cool lookin'
but it's only got 177hp and does 0-60 in 7.5 seconds.
not really a performer just a shiny...... on wheels
it's like a moped....fun and cool until you have to show your friends.

Actually the base model (with the 177 HP) really isn't meant to be an all out performer. That's what they'll have the more powerful model for. By coming out with a lower powered cheaper model, they made the car available to a much wider audience. Some people just want to take the top down and go for a cruise for a low price. The cheapest 350Z roadster is roughly 10K more than the base Solstice.
A:
theres a reason it's that cheap...no one has been scoffing at the Z roadster saying hey i could get a miata for 7-8k cheaper have they? not really. its a different market. enjoy your solstice. well unless you preordered, all of them are already spoken for though, and have fun trying to get one for msrp when they come out. so maybe next year some time youll have one...enjoy

another car in that range would be the 2006 saturn "sky" nice shinny top down ride.

A:
Yeah, the Sky (even the Redline trim) is taking aim at the more "upscaled" convertables like the S2000 and lower model 350Z roadsters.
Not bad on the eyes at all

rip that whole front saturn badge and chrome strip out...that would be a good start. defintly not a bad looking car though. if it can outdrive or atleast hang with the new miata it should do quite well.

^ based on the solstice platform if im not mistaken
A:
yep its pretty much the same car, GM has gotta work in the economies of scale somewhere or else the solstice alone just wouldnt cut it for sales figures.

2 words. pontiac and saturn lol.
A:
Both look good to me but feathering aside the Z has much more get up and go than both of these.
A:
the Z is not even the same ballpark as the solstice, not even the same game
A:
I have to agree with Ven100. The car looks good. Much more masculine than the Miata. For the price, i think it is a good deal.
A:
Can I get it with T-tops? :)
A:
Just a goddamn shame it's a saturn/pontiac. I'll give credit when credit is due though, it does look 10x better than any other saturn and could 'hang' in the looks department with the 350z convt and s2k although both will probably significantly perform better [which they should -> $$$].

I'm not going to compare performance (acceleration wise) of the S2K and 350Z until the more powerful versions of the Saturn/Pontiac come out.

I think the Pontiac will appeal to women and the Saturn (which looks like a baby Viper) will appeal to men.

whatever dude just buy the car you want...

Ven100,
just saw it on the web while surfing and thought the pic looked nice. just for fun. nice pic huh.

Anyone notice how some of the Solstice looks like a 350Z (the rear lights for one)? what a rip-off! To me it's in the same class as the less cars like the Miata.
I am sure like any new car it and the sister cars will sell well to Miata types who want a 350Z, but don't have one for some reason. or to people who are "Japanese car haters", but would buy a 350Z roadster rip from GM.
Does anyone think that the Solstice will effect the 350Z sales?
If GM is smart they will enter the Solstice in drift events; this car is "more affordable" to the "Drift Kiddies" than a 350Z.
Will the Solstice suck off sales from the 350Z Roadster (not the hard top) especially when they power it up?
I would also like to point out that many Nissan cars are made in the USA by American workers! So, really Americans can build car as well, or better than Japanese workers; it's really a matter of how the company is run and how the workers are treated.
Well, another car by the same GM that is building more and more in China (where a Buick is a youth brand)...
(Waiting for C&D or R&T to do a Solstice Vs. 350Z Roadster)
