true, performance may be somewhat similar but materials and fit and finish are so far beyond anything GM can come up with its silly. not to mention style(although i guess thats debatable with the gallardo). i dont want to spend 40k on a car with the same interior as my sisters cavalier

People just don't buy things to impress their friends. If that's the theory, everyone with a 350z should buy a 240sx and turbo it and outpreform all 350z owners that are out to impress their friends because the 350z just isn't as good of a value. If I could effortlessly get a lambo I would, because it would make me happy and bring further enjoyment and accomplishment to my life. The car market, even with exotics, isn't just does A outperform B. C6 vetts and lambo's are both terrible investments and shouldn't even be looked at that way, no one with a fraction of the money required to buy a lambo needs lessons in economics to show them they are 'wasting' money.

its difficult to believe someone went from a Z to a lambo, but if you did, congrats, enjoy the new ride!!

First, I would never be without a Z-car, even if I bought another makers car. Besides, I suspect that 350Z would be better as far as costs, maintenance, fuel consumption (the less you have to stop and gas up the better). That and there are many people who ca service the 350Z, try to find that for a Lambo. Just many of the reasons I love Z-cars.
It is an interesting, and very fast, but not relatable to most people. If I could spend that kind of cash on a car it would be a fully loaded R34 Skyline GT-R V-spec 2 with every NISMO part they make. That or a a stable full or race spec Z-cars.
