I installed a Compustar Alarm because I am going to upgrade the stereo system. I read a post a long time back about someone breaking the window because the factory alarm will not go off unless the door is opened. The Compustar is fantastic. It remote starts my Z with a manual transmission. I live in the desert where we have consecutive 100 degree days so starting your car before you get in it is a blessing. Also the remote paging distance is unbelievable. It is not an easy installation but www.the12volt.com website saved my tail. Hope this helps.
