A&Q about 350Z

Arg. My wonderful Bose 6-disc changer no longer recognizes any CDs. My dealer says they need to either send the whole thing to Bose for repair (probably $300-400 and a couple months wait), or replace the whole head unit (for something like $1800).
Can you believe it????
No, I don't want to replace it with an aftermarket stereo. I like the Bose. When it works.
Has anyone else dealt with this?

Honestly if I were you I'd just get a new head unit. The Bose system is actually seriously over-rated, and a good pioneer or kenwood head unit would actually be a good upgrade.

Yeah i would go with kenwood or something aftermarket....I have a huge system in mine but i like the louder the better...also it cost me right at $3000 but i did the install my self.........

I think Bose systems sound pretty good, moms mercedes has bose and it sounds great and never had a problem. But, like they said, Blose has a bad rep. for the z32 guys. Mine worked when i got the car ( really bad though ) within a few days, a speaker blew and the receiver broke. Of course, this is a car from 92' what ya expect.. I would think the 350z bose systems would be stout, but maybe not. Plus pricing for new Bose stuff is bullshit.

Completely correct. I consider myself to be an audiophile, and I wouldn't touch anything Bose with a 10foot pole.
I don't spend money on my cars system either, because I just like to hear my engine while I drive, but at home I use Klipsch speakers.
