I think my Z-PC is great. I think its just a matter of what you are comfortable with. Both Mac and pc have their pro's and con's.
I personally would not put a Mac into my car, unless I drove a VW bug. But that’s just my opinion and everyone should go and use whatever they want.
But maybe this mac/pc conversation should be left to a computer forum though ;-) and just keep this Z related.

hey... i didn't say it was a bad idea... just said that if it's music your interested in... why go for a mini computer? I thought about sticking a Dell mini desktop in my glove box... its nearly a perfect fit... and then wire it to a 7.5-8" screen in the Navigation compartment... and custom make a touch-pad mouse (like laptops) in the center console where the coin-tray is...
How's that?... I already had this all laid out.... but all i wanted it for was music... and since the AVX records music on a 20gig HD anyway... there was no point... and it's touch screen... I'm not here to tell you what you want to do... just give you my opinion on the layout or if there's something better...
Overall Install and all... you will probably spend about 3000 anyway... so what's the point? What do you mean "run into a wall?" upgrades?... Macs are damn near impossible to upgrade as well...in terms of hardware...

go to mp3car.com, all the information you could possibly ever need about putting a custom PC, or MAC into your car is there. I went the PC route myself, couldn't be happier. Did the whole thing for less than ~2500 (including all new Polk speakers and eclipse amps) My stereo finally sounds like the 'premium' bose should have.
