Sold my Z enjoyed every minute I drove it

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

well good luck and stay in touch for more positive inputs on the z cause its a legend just a defect on feathering tires thats it..........

A:

SRL311 lol. I have a feeling the new z06 isn't going to be any more tire friendly than the c5 model. Hard driving eats tires much quicker on that vehicle; but at least it won't be noise in the process to remind you of it.

I do not like buying new tires every 3'rd oil change. There is something going on to cause the feathering because it seems incurable no matter what tires are put or alignment setting. Other than that the car is great. Haven't had any of the other problems, but I have a pre-order model, so I am kinda waiting for my transmission to fail because it has to have the brass synchros.

A:

The question is, what will they do the NEXT time you take it in because the tires have been eaten away again. Or didn't they tell you that the alignment won't not fix the problem?

A:

No wonder Nissan is near the bottom of all the new car surveys. Tons of problems with the Z make the poor survey results a no brainer.

There isn't a fix for the 350Z front tire feathering in my experiences with my dealers.

Nissan replaced my tires twice and used their new magic alignment specs. I was promised the car was fixed and the feathering would not come back both times.

Swveral Z owners in my area have dumped their cars to solve the problem.

I love my car and will cross rotate my front tires to get a few more miles out of them when the time comes again.

However, I will NEVER, EVER buy, lease or drive another Nissan/Infinity product .My Z is my third Nissan product I've owned/leased.

Nissan has screwed themselves by not standing up to the plate and fixing this problem. I tell everyone that asks me about my car about the feathering , that I am on my fourth set of front tires at 26k miles and how Nissan is just waiting for people's warranty to run out and keep ignoring the known problem.
