Reignsworld, some tires come with rim gaurds which protect your wheel from curb rash. Maybe the Falken don't therefor the tires do not stick out past the side of the rim. I have the Nittos and those do come with rim the rim gaurd (just extra rubber) to protect your wheels.
On another note: I have read that if you put smaller overall diameter tires in the rear(i.e. 245/35 - 275/30) it makes the computer go crazy because of the VDC option. Have you experienced any problems? Assuming you have VDC.

These Falkens do come with a rim guard.
I have not had any problems with my traction control light coming on. Not sure if I have the VCD. I have a CS 03 touring.

some do that some don't the F*** nut that had my car before me stuck falkens on the rear with the original bridgestone's on the front... anyway the bridgestone's kinda slope inward and leave the rim ouward slightly... while the falkens are fluch with the lip of the rim... just get wider tires... the Bridges for me a 235... falkens are 245... on stock 18" rims.

Don't slash your wrists just yet. Chances are the company will not give you a hard time about your problem.
Several years ago, I purchased rims/tires from Tirerack. When they arrived, I noticed one rim had a chunk missing. I called Tirerack and they were great.
I was prepared to do battle with them, but was surprised when they said a new rim/tire was on the way, no questions asked! And use the packing to re-pack the screwed up rim/tire and leave it on the front porch for UPS to pick up. Have a nice day!
I still buy tires from them, great customer relations.

I also think the tirerack is great. Very helpful people. I had a bad tire ship with my set and they replaced it with little trouble.
