Nismo wheels

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Hey guys,
Has anyone seen how the silver z looks with the bronze wheels? Thinking of getting the nismo wheels. There is a set for sale on ebay both silver and bronze. Right now the bid is at 1300.

Thanks for the input.
Bill

Solidus can you give me a suggestion on 3 piece wheels. thanks.

Zino, what do you suggest? I already have an exhaust, headers, underdrive pullies, cold air intake. I don't think I will get the turbo for another couple of years. (More Power, I know APS).

LOL... we all know More Power... it's cool though... now i want APS TT... but also watch out for 3 pieces i think they tend to be a bit heavier... and it will slow down your acceleration. and make your suspension a bit more sluggish when going over bumps.

kinda as if you were to walk through some mud and get it stuck to your shoes... then your feet feel THAT much heavier... same principle... you don't support the weight of your feet but you feel the difference when you walk and jump.... same with bigger (but not always) heavier rims...

I just put in my order for the NISMO rims and tires.
They're stylish, but not too flashy and accent the Z very well so thats why I stuck with NISMO.
I can't wait to get them installed.

Hmm. So they don't support the VDC??? Not for touring model. That would be my car. Well I guess I shouldn't get them.
Thanks.

DocsZ:

There are other members here that have them on their Touring model Zs.

Check this link below, I hosted the pictures for "md1400cs" 2005 Super , Super BlackTouring Z:

Send him an e-mail and ask him if he has had any problems. The only person I have heard of having VDC problems was "spdfrk" when he put
245x35x18s on the front and 275x30x18s on the rear of his Liquid Aluminum Touring Z. The 35 is larger in diameter/thicker than 30s. The computer thought the rear wheels were "slipping" because they were spinning faster than the fronts. He changed the rears to 35's and the problem is gone.

Good luck DocZ.

DocsZ,

The Nismo wheels work fine with the VDC. I have them on my Touring 6 speed. All you need to do is stay with the recommended tire sizes (245/40 front and 275/40 rear) to keep the correct stagger for the system to work properly. The reason you hear that they don't work with VDC is that they were originally tested by Nissan on a non VDC equipped car. I put Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires on mine. By the way, my car is an 03 Touring too.
