A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I just got the Borla True Dual Exhaust installed this afternoon and wanted to share pics for those of you who might be interested.
The system didn't make the car much louder (which I didn't really want anyway) but I can notice a much deeper tone especially at about 4k rpm. Very happy with the system and installation.
Thanks to Zig Zag for information on conceptzperformance.com and to everyone else who helped with information for my purchase.

hey, looks great! Does the sound resemble the great stock sound? If it's similar but an improvement, I would be interested in buying one for myself.

Yes. It doesn't sound different to me, just better. Maybe a bit lower tone but no increased volume as far as I can tell.

Well, I don't think you know either

Undercarriage is still clean because it is only two weeks old...still a baby. I am sure in a year or two you wouldn't be as impressed.

Thanks for the sharing the pics. The Borla True Dual E...... is a very nice system. lol
My SB ZR still feels like HEAVEN....what a wild ride!
A:
Very nice. Did you install it your self? If not, what is the installation fee?
A:
but Borla advertises "true dual exhaust." As a young pup, dual exhaust meant one line out the manifold/header down the car through an individual muffler and out the back. Borla has a cross pipe and shares a common muffler.
Is that a modern day "true dual exhaust"?
grumo, nice installation. I hope it serves you well.

I didn't install alone. A buddy of mine works at a Midas. Let me use the lift and helped me with the install. Manager only charged me $35.
It only took 25 minutes to completely remove the stock and install the new (including picture time). System fit like a glove with no problems.
72n - I realize it is not a "true dual" in the literal sense. It's just the name given by Borla. I wouldn't want a real true dual on a six cylinder. You only get three bangs per pipe and with the timing sequences of six cylinders, it sounds raspy to me.

Caution: 3rd or 4th gear, hard accelleration, high rpm, and in a tunnel or between close buildings......may cause an erection.
BTW, did you get the JWT intake?
A:
Your assumptions are correct for the most part. I don't consider a system sharing a single muffler true dual exhaust, but it does have individual cats and a few other 'true dual' exhaust attributes. With an H-pipe/X-pipe, I don't think the firing sequence of the cylinders is very apparent. I consider a true dual exhaust in today's sense as at least individual cats and mufflers in a straight sense.

I have the exact same exhaust on my car and have had it for about 2 years now. Loved every bit of it. Of course power gains aren't really noticeable, but the sound is great. Has a bit of a deeper rumble under acceleration and a cool idle sound. Also goes great with my Typhoon intake.
