2004 Radio in 2003 model

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I'm looking to install a carputer in my Brickyard 2003 base model. I want the stereo to look stock, but I plan to install a carputer in the rear floor panel and a 7" screen in the center cubby hole in the dash. I would like to drive the speakers with the amp built in the stock radio instead of buying a amplifier and of course I'd also like to use a auxilary in feature of the 2004 base radios that the stock radios in the 2003 model do not have. I dont have any pics of the 2004 radios for the Zs and was curious if they look similiar to the 2003 models.

I just finished installing my car computer.
Works great.

I went with the FM Modulator that plugs into the radio antenna and creates a composite hookup that runs to my sound card.

Been working great, just make sure you ground your computer really well to avoid any sound interference from the alternator. (the drill noise with audio)

Good luck :) If you want any advice give me a shout.

hmm...well, I have a 2004.5 base model, and there is NO aux-in on my radio. I also checked the owner's manual for both a 2004 & 2005, and neither mention any type of aux-in feature for either the base radio or the bose (the bose has the 6-disc option, though).

If you have a 2004/2005 (Bose) you have a XM radio or other Satellite Radio input ( I read somewhere) that’s what your supposed to use.

Aramis,
I have a friend who made reference to this adapter thing for her 2004 radio with in-dash 6-disc changer and CD6 button on it somewhere-- she was able to use that interface to connect her ipod to the factory radio.. as far as i know it worked well with no noise. i will ask her more about it an update this post.
