BOSE stereo install??

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Honestly, i have the Bose system and i would not recommend buying the bose units and going through all the trouble of installing it...

Instead, since the non-Bose units have different Impedance outputs (i Believe) that would be a good place to start.

Just keep that and upgrade your speakers and amps... throw a sub in if you fancy those frequencies... IMO no system is complete without decend low notes to accompany (Not Overpower) the rest of the music...

guy on a different forum, not me said this.

"Sorry to disagree but it would take a lot of know how and way to much effort to make this work. I know because I got the deal of the century when I first go my z.

Bought an entire Bose system 6CD HU, Amp. speakers tweeters, everyting) from a guy for $100.00 and found I could not get it installed without an act of congress and papal absolution.

The stock radio harness wont work with the Bose. The Touring model has a different main harness than all the others. Smart engineering!!!. The only way to get the correct harness is to rewire the entire car, $1700.00parts plus 30 hours labor.

No way you say? I spoke directly to the Tech at Nissan in California.

There may be some Bose HU's that can accept an AM Amp, but not from my research. And even if you have the HU and amp, the speakers must have the Bose speaker enclosuresin the door and rear or it wont sound right. Meaning that you wont even get even the basic level of Bose sound.

The problem with all of this is that even after getting all of the of above fixed, the best you can hope for is the 350z "Blose" sound that so many are complaining about.

You may wish to keep the car stock looking but that involves tradeoffs. I know that this is not what you wanted to hear. It wasn't when I did it. I did manage to find a Bose Repair company in Fla that was willing to give me my money back. He planned on using the HU as a core exchange for people who need to get theirs fixed. He didnt want to pay alot as he may have to wait until the warranties go out."

another guy on the same forum said you could do it somehow using this product

i dont know much about audio but as far as price you could find a whole bose oem setup for dirt cheap. Whether it would work for sure i can't tell you.

I have had to already replace my Bose system in my 04 Touring once.

I don't think it would be worth the money or hassle that you will be faced with.

I have a 03 350z non-bose track w/ navigation. I bought the Bose 6CD HU to upgrade the single cd oem non-bose HU.

Is there any way to keep my navigation while installing the Bose 6CD HU? I know that the output plugs does not fit but is there any aftermarket plug/adaptor that i can use?

I really want to keep the OEM look on my car. Please help me out. Thanks.
