umm. i dont know. the only way it can be proven is to buy one and put your car on a dyno and see. my guess you might get 3-5 horses maybe

just my .02

I will say this: Yes it will probably help make a small difference. But 10HP? I doubt it.
Do you really think that a spacer ~1cm thick will really make that much of a difference? Sure, if its made out of the correct material it may help cause the upper plenum to drop a few degrees, but I doubt it will make 10HP difference.

Every few horsepower costs $200. In fact, $200 is cheap for a few extra horsepower on a 350Z. Most other mods will go into the thousands easily.

72n03Zs - this may not be what you were looking for, but you might consider investing in a which I believe has been dyno tested to yield up to 20 HP at redline.

What about a spacer and a higher flowing upper plenum?

I wasn't looking for intake mods on my car, but merely posted to see reactions. I reckon a spacer will work in theory, but I'm not an engineer. I enjoyed looking at the Crawford site, though.

2 things re the Crawford site: I like the look of the OEM strut bar a lot; good luck removing the oil dip stick with Crawford's strut bar installed.

The oil dipstick on moms G35 is so horribly placed, its almost impossible to find the stupid hole to stick it back in once you've pulled it out.

I don't know too much about them, but a lot of honda guys are doing this as well with proven results. A friend got 4.8 whp with the gasket on a honda k20 motor, but it supposedly works best [most gains from it] when the engine is very hot.

I bet a majority of the gain comes from the fact that the material they use probably doesn't conduct heat very well. It probably forces the heat to remain in the lower plenum, allowing the intake air to be significantly cooled by keeping the temperature upper plenum a few degrees cooler.

my question is... how much for a different plenum all together? if it's the same range as a crawford or APS tallboy... then i would most likely just do that... but i do like the fact that it is made out of a material that doesn't conduct heat as wall to keep the plenume from taking on heat... so what if you used this in conjunction with an APS or crawford?... gains should be pretty dang good then...
