Yeah , you need a break in...um mine happened around 2k or so. I was all freaked when it happened at first.

also, just curious, during the tranny break in, is there a certain RPM i need to keep under ? or speed limits I should not go beyond ?

I wouldnt drive dumb, just drive normal. I kept mine around 60-70mph max untill. it broke in, i didnt go past 4500 i think.

Your transmission has some of the same types of bearings, clearances, materials, and assemblies as your engine. So if you treat it like an engine break in you should be good. Only difference is your not cooking the oil or adding gas to it, so you dont need to change the oil.
