A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Just curious to see what kind of vehicles we all drove in here prior to getting our Z's. Were you a die hard Nissan Z fan, import fan, or maybe a die hard american muscle car fan that made the switch? Most all the cars I have owned since I was able to afford a quality dealer car anyways has been GM. Big part of that I guess was because we would get the employee discount, and quite frankly even without the discount we could always get more car for the $$ than with nissan, toyota and such. My last car was a Grand Prix GTP w/Comp G package. Great car but uhm, It's not a Z. Anyways, just thought I would throw something out there for us to talk about.

My very first car was a '97 Altima SE. It was a very nice car. I sold it to and used the money to fund the computer I built and then a '91 Jeep Cherokee, which I still own but I've pretty much given it to my younger brother to drive.
In highschool, the Jeep was an ideal car because I could haul a bunch of friends, make it out to the cool desert parties in the boonies, and it was tons of fun to go romping off road in.
A year and a half ago I purchased the Z (oldschool 300zx) and haven't been able to get out of it since. I'd live in my car if only the hatchback could house a mattress.

and fyi i bought these w/o the help of my parents
in this order
88 toyota 4 runner=sunk it in the river and rebuilt it and sold to a friend
86 chevy 1/2 ton pu=couldnt keep a motor in the ol girl
88 4 runner again=bought it back and the resold it
89 ford f150=just completly fell apart
98 gmc 1/2 ton pu=totalled after 3 days of owership
86 300zx=still own and still looks factory fresh
96 ford bronco=sold for the f250
93 300zx convertible=my love
95 ford f250=my workhorse
usually when i buy a vehicle i fix a few things wrong with it and resale it but the two z's grew on me and i needed not wanted a work truck cause i have to pull trailers where i work and haul loads so i went with a f250. i know this is a z forum but i have to say out of all the trucks ive owned and driven this f250 is the best pulling machine ive ever used, its also the most dependable. i just wanted to through that in there. and yes i am very red neck/blue collar and its so much fun being a cowboy and having two z's.

Pontiac something, I dont even remember the model. They don't even exist any more. That was piece a junk. That was when I could not afford anything. Then VW rabbit for 2 years and then finally got my first brand new car, 1988 sentra for $6800. Had it for 5 years, longest car I've ever owned. After that I bought the first generation 93 Altima and had it for 2.5 years and then I felt in love with a 95 Maxima GLE. I loved the 95 model alot. That was one sweet car. I sold it to a nun. She loved the car so much she paid cash for it on the spot and I used the money to buy a 2000 Maxima. 3 years later trade it in with my Z.

Zelous350z, I never should have sold the Warrior but at the time I wanted to do more sport touring riding so I bought the Triumph. I didn't even have the Triumph a year and sold it. My wife said she didn't like riding on it.
My Warrior had 80HP and 109 Ft-Lbs. Oh well what's done is done. I like my bling Harley and it is easy to customize.

Wow... I'm lame compared to you guys...
1990-93 - drove a 1984 Mazda 626 (Smashed into a telephone pole)
1993-94 - drove a 1984 Volks Rabbit GTI (gave it back to my brother)
1994-2000 - drove a 1986 Mazda 626 Turbo (drove it to the ground)
2000-2005 - drove a 1995 Honda Civic, plain white boring, not me...
03/17/05- bought a 2003 350z LeMans Sunset Track off of eBay, close the deal in person in Austin Texas... :-)
and I still drive the Civic as a grounding rod to show me how spoiled I am with my Z....

I just sold my 03 350z a little while back and bought a Is300. I miss the Z on a beautiful day going through the back roads. As for the snow, this lexus is just as bad. Overall I am happy though.

I sold my 95 M3 to get the 350Z.. I usually have a truck and a sports car.. so when I have an Avalanche as well currently..
prior I had a Trans Am WS6 and a Jeep Grand Cherokee.. prior to that I had a Monte Carlo and a Chevy S-10. I've been all over the board on cars, this is the first asian car I've owned..so far, so good..
I've had a lot of motorcycles as well (my real passion), currently have a Ducati (the 3rd Ive had), have had about every other make of sport bike out there..Ducati is the way to go!
