AIDS

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

does the zed allow you to turn off both driver aids? are TCS and VDC the only electronic type driving aids it has? if you are able to turn the aids completely off, does the car feel more like a pure uninhibited sports car?
i know about TCS but can anyone explain about what the VDC on the zed is all about? is it something to control the roll and shifting of the body so the balance isnt as easily thrown off?

A:

Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC): The 350Z’s VDC uses various sensors to help determine your steered path and helps keep you in control. If the vehicle begins to understeer (plow forward) or oversteer (fishtail), VDC can apply appropriate brake pressure to individual wheels and/or reduce engine output.

A:

Pressing the VDC OFF button located on the lower portion of the driver's side dashboard turns off both VDC and TCS.

for the most part i think that the car is more fun with the VDC off... it does feel a bit more "edgey" i guess you can call it... because you know that when you go around a turn if you push too hard you will oversteer/fishtail... but it also make driving that much more exciting... usually on relatively empty residential roads i turn it off to have a little fun with the slight fishtails and such...

but driving around town i normally keep VDC on so that i don't end up sliding into another persons car or a curb or something...

My car runs in fun mode 24/7 due to it being 20+ years old and traction control hardly existed at the time.
