acetone would work well, just make sure you wear thick rubber gloves and don't get it on your hands or paint. it will take paint off a car.
gasoline will also work. or black magic engine shine.
Just make sure you rinse it well with water and let it dry completely before you drive anywhere.

I use Mother's mag and billet cleaner/wax. Actually, you could use any of the brand-name cleaner/wax products sold in the grocery store for stainless appliance care. They are basically the same thing.
