A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Hi Z lovers, just have one question for anyone who knows about nitrous. I want to bottle feed my Z but I have always been a turbo guy and now that I bought my Z and found out that the cheapest turbo kit out there is over 5k I have decided to do bottle feed the beast. My question is what are the pros and cons of using wet or dry NO2. I want whats best for my engine and really dont knwo wich is the safer way or more efficient, so if you knwo anything abut nitrous please help me!!!!

if i'm not mistaken every shot of nitrous ages your engine about 8,000 miles.

1) ThePanics comment
2) temporary solution... think of it like this... after you spend the money of parts, installation, and refills... how much $$$ will you be at? and how long will it be before you surpass the cost of adding a simple turbo... not to mention the longetivity of your engine...
it's your choice...have fun :-)

Where do people find this stuff? People unload hundreds upon hundreds of 'shots' on the same engine, so they are at 2 million miles now?
Learn about nitrous and its effects on your car. Running a properly setup nitrous system with all the proper fuel/timing issues figured out will result in a trouble free, very fun system. It will take a long, long time to get to the 5-10k a turbo system costs in nitrous on a daily driver you like to have a little boost in once in a while. I'd estimate many years of regular use. The most expensive part of this will be replacing the stock fuel system, unless you only want to add minimal power, which you have to do regardless of what type of FI you choose. It is recommended you change your oil much more frequently with the use of nitrous as well.

It would be much cheaper and more reliable to research the air flow specs of your engine/heads and buy an ideal turbo based on that data. Once you have picked out a turbo, just have a shop build custom piping for the turbo and intercooler and you'll have a screaming fast car. It will probably cost much less than any pre-made kit, and probably work much better.

properly set up nitrous is no more dangerous than stomping on the gas on a TT setup,
think about it, u stomp the gas, you build up boost, you hit FI...
nitrous=you stomp the gas with activation of the nitrous, and you hit FI
same stuff, same principles, add more air therefore burn more fuel, which a result is more heat and more power...
with N20 you have to refill, yes but unless your on it like crazy, then its the perfect solution to more power on an NA car.

yes but until they make a nitrous refill station at the local gas stations i don't think that i would be installing N2O anytime soon...

And remember, if you get caught with a nitrous bottle in your car by the cops you may get levied hefty fines and face impoundment of your car. In this age of cops cracking down on street racers, a bottle will more than likely make you guilty regardless of your intentions.
