A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Hello, I am thinking about purchasing either a 350Z or Infiniti G35 (2 door) but was wondering some of the differences. Besides the body styles and interior being different how much different are the engines?Ppeople have told me they are both the same. As for performance, handling and reliability what would I be better off getting a 350Z or Infiniti G35? Either way I will get a manual. Thanks to anyone with info!

i had the same delimma when purchasing my car. i chose the z because it wasn't quite as long and looks sportier. sure the g35 has back seats, but you couldn't fit a person in them. plus the z has a few more horsies.
the g35 holds it's value better, though.
it's definitely a tough decision.
A:
it pretty much comes down to price and number of seats. G35 coupes start at around 33k whereas the Z starts at 28K. If you were planning on a touring or track Z or price doesnt matter much, then that point is moot. The engines are basically the same in each car, and most other parts are comparable. Performance is very similar with the Z edging the G with less weight and a sportier ride. So it really just depends on whether you want a straight up sports car or a very sporty coupe. If you don't need back seats I say get the Z but I'm biased.

Well stated drivenZ.
The Z has sports car handling and performance.
The G35 is a luxury coupe with not quite the same performance and looks.
Another biased opinion...

I agree with all of the above.
Here's one additional way to look at it: The G35 is nice, but the Z is cool.

Yes the Z is legendary but, are you forgetting were the G35s roots lie? Two words Nissan Skyline. Skylines are everybit as legendary as the Z. In Japan this conversation would be which is better a Z33 Fairlady Z or a V35 Skyline coupe.
Do you want a Skyline or a Z? That makes choosing even harder. Of course I cant afford either of them at this point in time, if I could I dont know which I'd rather have. But truth be told, I'm leaning toward the G35. They look amazing with the big factory wheels(not the chrome ones) and the factory aero kit.
