bizarre noise / only 783 miles!

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Do you have a POP charger or CAI installed?

I know what belt squeel sounds like, my sound sounds like a dry bearing. Someone in a past thread suggested that it may be the fan clutch. I used to own a 91 300ZX and when it got older I had this sound only during the cold months until the car warms up. Thought it was the timing belt tensioners so when I did the second timing belt , I replaced both belt tensioner pulleys. I also replaced the fan clutch and voila still had the cold squeel. Who knows what it was, anyway it was the same anoying but short lived noise. That was then , now I have a new car and a full warranty and unless every 350Z has this noise I want mine fixed.

I know what belts sound like too and it wasnt that. I have no pop charger, Im totally stock on a 2 week old car.

I want to take it in, but know they will not find the noise.

I think I know the sound you're talking about. It's sort of a howling sound, and it only occurs when the engine is pretty cold. I've heard it VERY occasionally since my car was new--now at 13K+ and it's still there every so often. I make it a practice not to "lean" on the engine until I've gotten a good warm-up, and that's probably why I don't encounter the howl but every now and again. Try being gentler with your sweetie when she's cold, and you should have the same experience.
