A&Q about 350Z
Q:
My post about pre-orders below this one got me thinking: there don't seem to be many pre-order guys around anymore.
If you were a pre-order, please post a response. Thanks.
A:
technically im not a preorder guy, cause i didnt personally preorder my Z...but my dealer had a preorder Z they were using as their demo which I in turn bought not long after they got their hands on it. Technically since it was never registered im the first owner so thats good enough for me. I was however around zcar.com way back in the day, its been about 4 years now i guess that ive been here.

Pre order here
Ordered Jan '02
Delivered Aug 22, '02 (2nd retail delivery in San Diego according to dealership)
#871 - Don't know why my number is so high for such an early car, but its a track model which might make a difference.
Still makes me grin when I hit it hard. (however I am no longer stock either)

Yep, pre-ordered Jan 02 at the dealership the night before the pre-order kick off. Found the Zcar site around Feb 02.
Delivered Sep 02.
VIN #047
22k miles
Touring/6spd/LeMans Sunset/All Opts
p.s. Nissan (or Infiniti U.S.) better come BIG with the ~$70K GT-R driveline or stay in Japan since the new Z06 at ~$70k is just a monster.

Pre order here on Jan 2002. Picked up the car on Nov 13th 2002.

I pre-orderd on 1/12/02 and took delivery on 8/29/02. Got a Pikes Peak White Enthusiast and I still love the color. It really sparkles when the sun or headlights hit it. Currently at 22,000 mostly highway miles. Averaged 28.3 mpg today on a 100 mile run from the beach to home.

pre-order # 149 - Lemans Sunset Track.
delivery Sept 02.
21,218 miles, still loving the car.
Unusaual car, no problems, no feathering, original RE040's still mounted in their factory mounted position. Never dismounted our switched side to side. Had updated alignment specs applied at low miles. Only grease streak happens for me.
Still remember the "WTF is my car I ordered 4 months ago, what port, what truckk???? and the vanished dream that we coul easily modify our cars to 350 HP +. Oh the dashed dreams, and the continued fun of what it can do. It is so rock smooth and steady at 145 mph. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Driven,
Slight correction to your last post. You meant to say we pre-ordered in 2002 not 2003.

I Pre-ordered my Z on Jan 15, 2002, delivered on Sept 9th 2002. I've got all of the paperwork, including pre-order sheet and all of the odds and ends sent to the pre-order folks (playing cards, spec cards, numbered lust then love book, all kind), not to mention all of the magazine articles and stuff regarding the launch of the car...
I was thinking about trading my Z in for a leftover '05 anniversary edition at a local dealer, but I like the fact that my car is one of the early ones, so I'll keep it.
