A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Hello, guys!
My name is Darryl, and I want to buy a new set of wheels for my 2004 Roadster. It's got the 18 inch staggered wheels on it now, and I'm looking to stay with the 18 inch diameter rims, but go a bit wider. The rims I'm looking at are 8 1/2 inch wide in front, and 9 1/2 inch wide in the rear. I'd like to use the stock tires on them since they're brand new. Would it be safe (and not look strange) to use 225 fronts and 245 rears on these rims, or would that be to narrow a tire on this width wheel?
Thanks in advance for your input - I truly appreciate it.
(Oh, and I have searched on this, and have found plenty of information that isn't quite what I'm looking for. That's why I'm turning to the experts! :-) )

Darryl,
I think you will will run into some problems with the stock tires on wider rims and you will lose the appearance benefits by not make the tire purchase. When I bough my '05 in June, by July I had a new set of tires and wheels on the car. I've always made my purchases from The Tire Rack, but this time I changed directions. I bought the package from Wheel Max in Miami. I went with AZA Z-2 wheels (front 8.5 x 18 & rears 9.5 x 18) and I had a set of Yokohama AVS ES100 tires in 245/40 and 275/35 respectively. The wheels look awsome and I got a 7% discount with a special sale they were running and they provide free shipping.
Do yourself a favor and pick up a tuner magazine at the store. They're loaded with ads on tire and wheel suppliers. It's all subjective in the eye of the beholder so take the time to look at as many options as possible.

Hey 350Z-speeding-tickets,
I have a set of stock 18s I would sell. Brand new fronts (about 100 miles on them) Rear tires have some tread left, you would proabably get a few thousand miles out of them. Drop me an email if you are interested. sgoodwi3@yahoo.com
