Injen vs. NISMO

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Hello guys,

I went to the performance auto body shop today in regards to getting a NISMO exhaust and NISMO CAI. The guy there said: "the NISMO exhaust sounds CIVICY"! He said the Injen is much better. Then he said the NISMO CAI is bad compared to the Injen CAI.

Is Injen really better than NISMO cause they are about the same price?

#1- the guy doesnt know what he's talking about
#2- the guy doesnt know what he's talking about

i dont know what shop you're going to but seriously i wouldnt take any mechanics opinion over my own(mod wise) unless they also owned a Z and did extensive Z modding. Im sure they know how to install an exhaust but that doesnt make them experts on 350Z mods. In all honestly nismo vs injen...i mean its all personal preference, both are very good. Anyone who tells you one is alot better than the other is lying. And with regards to the Nismo sounding like a civic, thats completely false. The Nismo is one of the best/understatd exhausts. It's sounds very stock, yet a bit deeper and more exotic. Definitly not ricer or "civicy". Dont ever take anyones opinion for better than your own unless you know they're a serious enthusiast.

PS: for both of those mods you could install them yourself. all you'd need for the exhaust install is some rhino ramps($35) or a jack and jack stands. It really isnt that hard, you dont need any mechanical knowledge, just a few hours on a weekend and some red stripe...haha. The intake, i believe you need to take the front bumper off but thats a breeze. Seriously if you have the time just DIY, you cant really F anything up.

One of the guys that is in my autocross car class has a nismo exhaust and doesnt sound "ricey" at all. I think i have a sound page with most exhaust on a Z let me see if I can find it.

Thanks,

I heard the sound of both and I think the NISMO sounds much better.
I also think the INJEN exhaust set up looks ugly.
He said he'll install it for $100 so I rather he do it.
About the Intake I dont know which is better?
