Stock wheel/tire question

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

The wider the wheel and the heavier the tire will begin to have an adverse effect on performance won't it? Or is the difference so negligible that you wouldn't notice it?

A:

Yes the heavier the wheel and tire combination will affect performance. But of course depends on how heavy the difference will be. Basically your acceleration will suffer and your braking distance as well. Plus, your brake pads will wear faster than normal with the same braking habits you have with heavier wheels and tires, in order to stop the car the same way you do with the stock wheels. This is due to more rotating mass the brake friction has to deal with. Purchasing a Wheel and tire combination is one of the most efficient performance upgrade you can do, so don't just buy any wheel. You can make your tires wider and still get the weight less than stock or the same. Even with same wieight, but becuase of your wider tires, you get more traction and more stopping power.
