i read arround some 06 Zs have oil consumption issues...My Z does not burn any oil at all every time i check the dipstick it's at the same mark(H).But i was wondering if you guys have any oil consumption issues? oh yeah i use motul 300v....

I am in the middle of a hassle with my dealer now .They did a oil consumption test> the car is using 10 to 12 Oz of oil every 500 to 600 miles.That comes out to about a little over 2 qts per oil change.First they tell me its the way Im driving .I tell them bull s---t.Then they say Nissan told them to tell me They replaced the engens in several manual trans car and the new motors did the same thing They also said the motors were sent back to Japan and nothing could be found wrong with them So it must be the manual trans cars.What a crock of s--t.So anyway I talk to the Director of parts and service today He says yea something is wrong here and will talk personaly to Nissan to resolve this We will see what happens.Today I also talked to a lemon law attorney They are sending me out the paper to fill out to see I f I can get them to buy back the car Since they are telling me bacisally they tried other cars and they still burned oil Sounds like breach of warranty to me.So what do you all think let them replace the engine if they agree to or thy for a buy back? Sorry for the long post Alot going on here

let the replace the engine. i believe the lemon law only applies if they actually try to fix it and are unable to.

Actually there is a law in PA. If the car does not perform as designed .You have some legal rights I beleive it is called breach of warrantyI dont think the car was designed to burn that much oil

The dealer is not going to drain the oil and refill it every 500 miles like I was going back They would also have to drain the oil filterIf you let the car sit like for a hour you could get a pretty good reading on the dipstick As close a I can figure between the l and h mark is is about 7/8 of a quart

sorry to hear your woes dude... Stay on consumption reports!! if it aint leakin it its burnin it right!! ASK DEALER TO DO A COMPRESSION TEST AND LEAK DOWN TEST!!!!!!!!!. this is what they did for me AFTER 15.000 klm of oil consumption reports... The compression was down 35lbs in one of the cylinders. That is when the new engine appeared. Nissan tech line is a place where common man is not allowed to comunicate with. ONLY the Nissan service reps phone tech line and they are told by tech line what to do. Dealerships lost the privilage of major diagnostics due to some unscrupulous dealers ripping off Nissan( Dealerships are all individually owned so it is hard to police, you follow me) Renault changed all of this to control dealers from ripping off the factory .. Anyway they will fix any problem AS LONG AS YOU CAN PROVE THERE IS SOMETHING BROKEN!!!!!!! i was doing 1 litre every 800klm.the manual says 1/2 litre between oil changes, thats 6000klm so as you can see it was a lot of oil... LASTLY...NOT ALL DEALERS want to help you. It was a long and winding road for me and i am feeling your pain!! ASK THEM TO ASSUME IT IS CONSUMING, AND THEN ASK THEM what the NEXT step would be in the process....FORCE THEM INTO interior diagnostics..good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

To measure oil level is not difficult. Pull pistick, wipe clen, leave it out for 15 or more minutes (for the oil in the dip stick tube to drain), stick back in, pull out, voila, oil level.

william good stuff I tried to get them to let me talr to the factory rep.Service manager tells me I cant talk to him.Total BS. if you ask me.
