What amazes me is the fact that they (03) are asking for the a price that is the same or close to that of a new Z.

They've faced up to the fact that the tire feathering isn't going away and they're hoping to get as much out of their cars as they can....especially before Nissan does a suspension redesign...which is what I'm waiting for. I like the new Z....I just want one that has been debugged before-hand.
