A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I thought this would be a fun thread (it's probably been done before but oh well):
So far, in the month and a half of owning my Z, my best experience in "her" (she hasn't been named yet) was definitely last night. As you all know, October is closing in, and so is fall. Here in Nashville TN, weather patterns are very erratic. We had our first "chill" of the fall. Last night it got into the low 60's (that's freakin cold for us southerners). It was dry, clear, and just PERFECT. Driving home from work at about 7:45 I realized I had only one choice. I got home, put on some comfortable shorts and a long sleever and my favorite driving shoes (my LL Bean moccasins, the "feel" is much better than normal shoes), and slowly idled out of my driveway. I drove south on Hillsboro Pike for about five to ten miles, then took off down one of the countless back country roads that winds around the geographic space between Franklin and Nashville. Its a beautiful area with sweeping hills and lots of trees. Only downfall, bugs and night critters. Fortunately the bugs were dormant cause of the cold, so I was just praying to get luck with the critters. There was very little traffic, another major plus. In fact, for about ten to twelve minutes I didn't see another single car. I opted to go without the "brights" on, for excitement and the uncertainty factor. I knew these roads pretty well, but there was always the turn here and there that would sneak up on me. Ahh, runnin 90 through horse farm country under the stars. The sounds were incredible. I had some music on to start, but by the time I go her out in the open away from everyone, I just turned the CD player off! 4th gear at 70 mph is great. I am reluctant to rev it up too high because I am still breaking her in (I got 2400 on the odo.), but I had a little fun. More than that, just feeling the grip as I took a hard right, or a downhill off camber left was just phenomenal. I haven't really pushed the limits of this car yet. Still haven't, but I got closer last night. I don't know if ya'll will think this post is gay, but I just wanted to share a moment with my fellow Z lovers. I am sure there are a few of you that have a moment that really sticks out. It doesn't have to be recent. It can be maybe your first experience with an old 240 back in the mid 70's??? I don't know. Just thought I would open up the forum...

Same kind of night here in Kansas. I know what your feeling my Z has less than 2000k on it. Last weekend I took a road trip up I-35 to lawrence (University of Ku) and couldn't believe that even a boring drive on a turnpike could be so enjoyable. I can't wait for the numerous experiences to come. By the way we've got the same model and color...feels like I'm washing my car every other day.
Loved my Acura RSX Type S until I got my Z!!!!

Aug. 10th 2002, my dealer called and told me my car was ready, after 5 months of waiting. they sent a driver to pick me up and i walked into their back lot. Sitting alone was my baby, a brickyard, i was so happy i picked that color what a shine. After a short run throu with my sp i sat into the front seat and started her up WOW the sound was great. leaving the dealership i got onto the 405 heading back home when a red porsche pulled along side to a look and gave me the thumbs up, i was one happy guy..i still get that same feeling every time i start her up

i can definitly relate, you'd be surprised but here in jersey there are some roads that look like that. its funny now that Ive had the car for over 2 years, when the temp. changes or starts to change I sub-consciously change my driving habits to adjust for the decreased grip in the tires. When it gets colder it's alot easier to kick out the back end in a turn. Im dreading the winter coming though, so im trying to get my Z fix while i still can!
