Jesus christ -- this has got to be a first. You don't buy a Z to use it to tow **** or put **** on its roof man. You shoulda bought an SUV.

Z _ Me, I think it's a legitamite question. It may not have a legitmate answer. Here are some of my ideas:
If your bike's front wheel comes off, you may be able to fit it into the back (most bikes do).

Snowboard - just put the passenger side seat forward all the way. I bet you could somehow maneuver it in under the torsion strut.

Kayak - drive with your hatch open and let it hang out the back. Perfectly legal as long as you put an indicator flag (orange) on the end.

Racks are expensive. If you are traveling alone, these should work fine. In fact, the bike and the kayak should work even if you do have a passenger. Sure you won't be able to race around with a kayak sticking out the back...but who cares. Do that some other time

Thanks for the input...I've tried the snowboard in the passenger seat and I've put it in the "trunk" when I had a passenger in the car, but I had to remove the bindings. I've tried putting the bike in the "trunk" too, but the handle can break the back winshield or scratch the paint when I hit a bump. If I could afford 2 cars, I'd get an SUV. I don't think my 9 foot kayak would stay put in my "trunk" though. That may be pushin it. Haven't tried it so I can't knock it, but it would suck if I hit a bump and out falls my kayak, then a car crashes into it, then my insurance goes up. No good. My next car will be an SUV, Dragonball, but as long as I'm single, I'm gonna enjoy my beautiful Z.

A:

Where do you Kayak? You might be able to find a storage unit there and simply keep it. Or, sell the kayak and use the proceeds to rent kayaks whenever you go? Is that wise? I have no idea i know NOTHING about Kayaking....

And good choice on enjoying the Z while being single...I am in the same boat. Where do you snowboard?

I'm with Dragonball. If you enjoy those kind of activities that is something you take into account when getting a car. If you did construction you wouldn't be driving a 350z to work just becuase you wanted a sports car. The same goes for the kind of activities you like, you should have got something to work with your life. You know how crazy it's going to look going to the beach or lake with a kayak strapped to a 350z while everyone else has a truck? You obviously can't change that now and you don't seem to care anyway as long as you can continue your fun. My best suggestion is to take the money you would use to buy a hitch and perhaps save up a little more and buy yourself a cheap used truck. Something like a 90's toyota or nissan can be had for 5k or less in good shape. Doesn't have to be anything great, just reliable and able to get your things around. That way you don't ruin the look of your car with a hitch (sports cars look stupid with hitches) and don't risk scratching/damaging your car. Cost wise it's not that much to buy a 90's used truck.

Can you maybe add a hitch so you can tow a small cargo trailer with all of your toys?

Z-Me....

Enjoy your Z. I do. I try desperately to cart my music equipment around. I knew it was going to be a problem before I bought my Z. Did I give a big flying S**t....nope.

Hence the Z I have parking in the lot next to my office.

Again...enjoy it!

Find some dude with an Xterra and give him the "wink" so he'll tow your stuff around whenever you want.......problem solved.

Loved my Acura RSX Type S until I got my Z!!!!
