dash mishap

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

i was carrying my BQ tank on the passenger side floor of my 350z and the edge of the tank scratched the underside of my dash.A great big ugly scratch. I phone my Nissan dealer and they tell me they would have to order the part. It arrives , they phone me, i go in. when i arrive they will not accept any money from me. My point i guess is that they did not have to do this and i would of been happy to pay for it. I do not know what kind of relationship you people have with your Nissan dealership but i believe that if you treat people the way you want people to treat you , you will be further ahead. Some people would go in yelling if it was a warranty thing threatening to sue and the whole nine yards. Some people i believe are just high maintainance and need to be coddled. When i ordered my car they actually rewrote my deal to save me about 4200.00 in interest payments.Had to take delivery earlier but it was worth it to me. I read a lot of horror stories on this site , mostly from the same little small group of individuals again who probably will never be happy. A guy there saying his rearview fell off.....yea right ...lolololol . what he didn't tell us is the other car/truck was just a little to close and he misjudged it... i always believe that when 2 partys tell a story some where in the middle you will find the truth. drop by with a dozen donuts for the guys unannounced in parts.. then next time you need them they just might give you a little extra attention or maybe not...but they will remember who you are. There are always ways to circumvent the system and being nice is a prerequiste. I am not saying that Nissan is going to start shovelling free parts out the door at your whim but boy it sure is easier working with someone that
is on yourside at the beginning...drzee

to the guy that says i am trippin ...."dude".. No i am not..i have lived my life that way and believe me it works! i figured by the "dude" thing i guess he is a little younger than i and as you all know the younger generation knows everything....NOT! As for the bad experiences, getting insulted by someone that you just spent a major amount of money with is a real drag and i do feel for your experience. I knew with any new car there is ALWAYS issues... There was with the 240 and there will be with the next totally new "Z".

umm, i know that nissan will not stand behind this suspension fiasco. I know that nissan replaced my front tires at 6k and i know that at 12 k they refused to replace them again because my car was out of the adjustment period. I know that i filled the first part of the lemon law paperwork (final repair attempt). I know that nissan then kissed my ass and GAVE me 4 michelin pilot sport a/s tires. Yes four. I know that this is my 4 th nissan. i know i just bought another nissan last week (murano)btw i've bought all 5 nissans from the same dealership and salesman, wonder why they didn't give me any free stuff? carma? NOT.
I'm not sure why your dealership felt so obliged to give you free parts, but more power to you. Some of us are nice like you, we just can't seem to get nissan to care about this problem.

well... i definately have some words to say contrary...i come up there and am always really nice because i know that these people are just doing their job... i mean i wouldn't like it if someone just walked in the door and started yelling at meeither... so i calmly walk in there and tell them my problems A-Z...the write everything down... and then tell me that the things that should be under warranty... aren't the tire issue... simply said well we can get you some new tires but you have to pay for something like 809 percent of it... and oh yeah we can do the realignment for you but first you have to buy new tires... so i wait a little while... get some tires... on my own... and then go back up there... then they tellme that i have to pay 100% for the realignment... which BTW... my car went straight before thisand now it pulls to the right... thanks alot Nissan!!!... let me mention when i went to get the TSBs fixes on the BOSE H.U.... window streaks...trunk springs... a lug nut that THEY stripped out and then HALF ASSED replaced it with one that didn't fit... ( they then had to order a new stud from Japan???) and i STILL am missing one of my tire pressure sensor monitors... also...

i took this all up to them once... and they told me to hold on to my car for now while they order all the parts... and we had a a scheduled date set up to have all the work done so i call a day before... they tell me that the don't have all the parts but the expect to have it in before the weekend... so as scheduled i drop my car in on friday morning and have plans to leave it there for the weekend...pick it back up on monday afternoon... i call them monday and they tell me that they still don't have all the parts in... and that i can come pick up my car though... that when they get my parts (which was just the stud that they stripped) they would call me back...

i go and pick it up... and ask "so what was done to it?" he says "Nothing" we were waiting for all the parts to get here before we started... they had the stereo, window guides, trunk springs, replacement coin tray... everything but the FREAKIN stud... car was there for 4 days and they did NOTHING... and I'm busy at the time i worked 40 hours at the airlines... went to school monday 8 hours, wednesday 7 am to 11 pm, thursday 5 hours, and friday 8 hours.... so i don't really have time to have no car...

AND THESE GUYS ARE WASTING MY TIME

then... and should i really go on?
