ok guys i'm really upset as i was coming out of work doing the speed limit about 40mph this silver neon got next to me and he smile at me for take off.. we took off and we were doing about 110mph from 40mph and he gave me this big ass smile and the damm neon just took of like a bullet.. i didnt no what to do cause my foot was all the way down on the gas pedal and i couldnt catch up to him then. he stop on a red light. and i asked him what he had in it.. i thought (NOS) but he said that it was all stock only with an air intake and exhaust.. i still can believe this ugly neon. can a neon really do something like that with a z.. cause i raced gto,mustang gt,camaros but i never seeing a neon take off that fast.... i'm just wondering is it worth puttin (NOS) in my z33?????

hahaa...you got played man. next time make sure you know what you're going up against. it was an srt-4 and theyre pretty quick. its still a neon no matter what anyone says, but a quick one.

Besides my Z, I have an Audi TT Roadster 225 AWD that's chipped so it accelerates very quickly. Turbo cars haul ass. If you started at 40 then his turbo was already spooling. So it is possible to pull away like that.

I seen them running at the track. 14's and 15's. None of them could hook up very well with the FWD and they didn't seem that fast. But i've seen a video of one hanging with a TT Z32 , so yeah, there quick. And in my book don't deserve respect cause they look "ghey".

The difference between the maxima and the z should be obvious. The Z has all the power I'd ever need of it, I'm not out in the streets looking for something to prove. And besides, no one has ever tried to race me in my Z, people respect it. The Maxima, like other companies, are increased in HP going with the trend to juice up sedans. Nissan has to compete... 140 stock horsepower isn't going to cut it anymore.

The increase in efficiency of production as the number of goods being produced increases.
its a basic concept that seems like a no brainer but the implementation isnt always so easy. ex. Nissan makes an engine or a whole platform(lets say the VQ engine) they have R&D costs, material costs, whatever. The more VQ engines they produce the cheaper it is. it becomes cheaper to buy the materials for the engine since they buy them in larger bulk. And theres a whole host of other cost savings that goes way beyond that, that i would need to actually think about to remember. but thats the basics of it. Nissan wasn't doing to hot in the 90's but recently ghoshn has totally turned around the company and this is one of the reasons. It isnt a crime to use the same parts in many different cars, its just good business. and to be succesful its a necessity.

My wife had a 96 150 horse 2 door Neon. It was a pocket rocket.
Billy The Kid said it best "Horsepower to weight ratio". The car is a roller skate with to much power. I ran a 14.05 at Cecil Co. dragway and the Neon in the other lane cleaned my clock. The owner claimed it was stock as is my Z lemon.
Punch line - I could have bought 1.7 Neons for what my Z lemon costs.

I find it amazing how many 350z owners on this site dont like there cars. It seems to me if I were that unhappy with my car id sell it and stop bitching about it on that cars forum. I may be a Z32 owner but I still like the Z33 and it agrivates me for some reason to just read over here and listen to people whine and complain about the car. Dear god this is a technical forum dont bitch about **** figure out how to fix it and make the car better. I apologize if ive offended anyone or if anyone feels im overstepping my bounds on this but its just the way I feel.

yeah, I agree with ya cville - I only joined for forum a few months ago, but a lot of people complain about them. If I had an annoying girlfriend, I wouldn't complain about her all day long and then sleep with her at night, I'd ditch her. If you can't take some of the quirks of the 350, then unload it and get something else.

You guys who own Z32's or are true car enthusiast understand all cars have thier quirks and either live to live with them or get rid of it...but with the Z33 it was desinged and priced to attract the most broad spectrum of buyers to be very profitable, so you end up with some owners who do nothing but bitch bitch bitch...I feel sorry for them. Especially the ones that that think by getting a domestic sports car will be better. I for one have a Z33 and sure I've had to deal with streaks (fixed the first time), feathering (wasn't eating my tired but I had it fixed anyway at 22K miles or at least VERY much reduced), driverside window motor reset, so that for having it over 3 years is not what I would consider a lemon. Sure if you have to repeatedly have to take your z in, that would be a pain, but don't you think some of that blame lies with your local Nissan dealership? I have had great service from my local dealer, maybe their guys can fix things the first time and your local techs can't?

MAG exactly every car has its quirks. The Z32 has a ton of them. The point look past the few little problems and see what you have. You are Zcar owners, owning a Zcar is something to be proud of understanding the heritage and the legacy of the Z is and knowing you are part of it should make you proud to own your car. Get around the quirks figure out how to and be glad you are part of the family.

Not important for performance, but it just goes to show...corners were cut to make it affordable. I bet the interior starts to rattle on an SRT-4 w/in 5 years.

Staticivi you do realize that there is more to a car then 1/4 mile slips. Bashing the z because it shares a similar platform with the maxima is stupid. The reason clowns like you can afford a 350 is because of the shared components. The z is no less of a car because of it.

Hey this is my first post. I've had my '05 Super Black Eth for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it. Hope I don't have the problems some of you guys have had. My previous car was a '03 Acura RSX Type S with numerous mods but I've already forgotten bout her. My neighbor has an ugly ass SRT4 and has already attempted to race me but my car only has 450 miles on it. It's bad enough he drives a Neon but now he's got some ugly 16" rims on it (oh by the way he's a cop).
Loved my Acura RSX Type S until I got my Z!!!!
