Waste of money and won't do anything.
If you've got high compression or F/I running a higher boost than usual, then that would warrant running a higher octane race gas.

Actually, sugar doesn't really do much to an engine. The old rumors that it crystallizes in the cylinders are just fairy tales. (or so says Mythbusters..)

seems to me that the gasoline would eat the sugar anyhow... it' wouldn't have the opportunity to screw the engine
