Highway

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I have to say that this car is quite a highway machine. I don't know about you guys, but some may be spoiled by having spent a lot of time in this car. I however, just broke the car in. It has 1202 miles on it. I am coming straight into this car from a 1997 Honda Accord (thats less than 160 hp, FF for all you who may have forgotten. The Z on the other hand is 287 hp, FMR (Front Midship Rear)). When I get on the highway an hit fifth gear doing about 60, I have to yell. Every time!!! I let a YEEEEHAWWWW like the Dukes of Hazard. I have been in quite a few sports cars, at least I would like to think so...to name a few:
Corvette C5
300ZX TT
G35c
Saleen S281
Porsche 911

I only got to drive the TT, but I tell you what. the drivers ramped up all those cars and NONE of them, to me, offered the same EXCITEMENT. Sure there may have been more power, some of them may have been a little faster (I know the Corvette was), but who gives a rats ass. This Z is so energetic. I have to say that I may be young (22), but I foresee many years of loving this fine car before I submit myself to something else.

No point to this post other than...hot damn isn't this thing fun to drive. Share some...

5th gear at 60? Try going into 3rd at that speed, hit the gas, then see what happens! :)

I'm with you brother! I just broke through the 1,200 mile barrier last Sunday. No more 4,000 RPM max and yes, fifth gear pulls so great. I'm at 80 MPH in no time. The other part I love is how rock solid this car is. I had a 1990 300ZX and while I loved the car, it wasn't nearly as solid as this Z33 version. I'm going to hate putting it up for the winter. It kills me when all I can do is stare at it.

Just want a couple years. ;) Everything starts to work in. The engine revs a little better, it shifts a little better, and you'll have had enough time behind the seat to know you can through it around a 15mph turn @ 50 and the car still is flat not up on two wheels, with nice control because of that independent rear.

Frankly, most of the Z owners can't drive the limits of this car. It doesn't mean they don't know how to drive. It's just that good! :)

Have fun learning your car.

I keep finding new things two years later that adds to the enjoyment of this fine Z. I am on my sixth Z. This is the best by far IMHO.

The 350Z crowd is pretty cool too. They have the money left over to mod the cars. Unlike other sports cars that limit your funds. The 350Z is cheap and fun to mod.

I'm looking forward to my sways and Koni's that are next on my list.

Enjoy the ride .......
