A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Hello,
I came across a new 05 350z with about 69 miles on the odometer and still sits in the showroom. Is this normal mileage on a new car and should I be concerned about that if I consider buying it? I never bought a new car with so many miles on the odometer. Your thoughts please.
Thanks,
Mike

yea i wouldnt worry about it too much... an 05 though? do you mean 06? an 05 wouldnt exactly be a new car by any stretch. if it is really an 05 thats still sitting there im surprised it doesnt have more mileage than that. I wouldnt be concerned with it, i bought a dealer demo car with a bit over 2k miles on it and i havent had any unusual problems. but at this point in the game you should be able to get that car at a steal

Yes, it's new, it's still sitting in the showroom, it says 35th anniversary on the sticker. How much do you think it's worth. It's offered at $37k.

I wouldn't exactly consider a sticker a reliable indicator of whether or not it is a special edition, what with the AE fiasco of '84. Just remember that it's your responsibility to verify that it is a 35th, not the dealer's.

I don't think a reputable dealer will do that.
Beautiful Shiro you have. How many miles do yo have on it?

There is a 05 yellow anniv. edition at Ted Russell Nissan fully loaded and they only want a little over $30,000 for it. They have trying to get rid of it for a while. It is brand new.

it probably hasn't sold because they have the price jacked up because it's a 35th AE and no one's stupid enough to pay that much.

My SB ZR still feels like HEAVEN....what a wild ride!

When I bought mine it had 337 miles on it, all test drive. And think of it this way, that car is one year from being out of warantee.
It hasn't sold cuz it's a 05, and it should be listed around $29,000.
I have a grand touring and I didn't pay $37000 for it!
A:
Tha't s a very good point that it's one year from being out of warantee. Thank you.
How much do you think I should offer for it?

The three year warantee starts at "day of purchase". No, not all Z's are pratically the same. I have a 06 Grand Touring model and it feels much differant that my 05 Touring model. The wheels/tires are differant sizes and the breakes a much better on the Grand Tourer.

Correct...three year warranty starts date of purchase.
I reccomend you figure out exactly what it is that makes a car a 35th (different insignia, brembo brakes, yellow, etc.) so you can be sure for yourself it is a 35th, then go to the dealer acting skeptical but interested in the car. Obviously there is a reason it has not been purchased. If you mention to the dealer you would like to buy but are concerned because it has been on the lot so long, I am sure you will have plenty of negotiating power. Wouldn't be surprised if you drive it off the lot for just north of $30K.
Good luck.
