Anyone Rplace Wndshld in MD/VA?

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Any suggestions from your experience on a good company in MD or VA to replace the windshield on my 03 Z? (12-inch crack from rock hit on hwy).
I want something as close to OEM as possible. I called Nissan parts and they told me $975.00 for a Nissan OEM stocked windshield, which is just a crazy price (don't know why it would be so much). Most places I've checked so far is around $300, but I want a quality install. job.
Thanks.

Remember that the side panels have to come off which means the rubber around the door glass has to come down to get the sides off to get to the glass. So, the job is involved and someone that has done one should perform the job if you want a leak proof job. Also, the wipers and cowl vent covers have to come off too. So, just make sure that they know what they are doing and that they have weatherstrip if they tear yours up...

If the insurance is going pay for it, less 100 ded, then it shouldn't matter who does it. I hate to say this but take it to the dealer and let them do it. It should be OEM from the dealer, I would hope.

I am in VA and have only had to replace one windshield but I cannot remember who I went to. I went to a company that covered my 100 ded. The windshield was for my F150 Lightning and I couldn't tell any diference between what this place put in and OEM. They did a good job and even told me to take it easy driving for a few days to I wouldn't torque the windshield out of place. I'm sure glad I don't own it anymore with the way gas prices are, that Lightning got 15mpg on a good day...LOL...but it was fast and handled really well for a 5000 pound truck.

*********TRY THIS

I got this from a friend, tried it out on my old car and worked like a charm..
Pick a heavy duty truck that has stuff fallin from the back (ones usually look like a dump truck). They shuold have some telephone number on the back that refers to how the driver is doin etc etc... call them and tell them that ur windshield is cracked cause of the truck and ask them to pay for it or you will claim thru their insurance.. when i tried it they paid from my windshield cash.. dont know if this will work for u (my incident was abut 2 yrs ago), but its worth i shot..

Are you serious? I love america, the land where everyone gets something off someone else's back. :( People are ignorant...

I'm with you, Revolution. As a person probably too old for this forum, I'll observe that the notion of individual responsibility is one thing I have watched being eroded during my life. We've gotten to the point where everyone thinks somebody else ought to be at fault.
