There is a warranty extension for tire feathering.
Due to this issue, and the tire growl/roar associated with it, affecting almost all 350Z since its introduction, Nissan has extended the warranty period for the alignment adjustment and free tire replacement, if applicable.
However, if you have aftermarket rims you must return the car back to OEM before they can do the warranty. So basically, what this means is that your car must have its original size tires mounted on orginal rims before any warranty repairs can be performed.
For certain aftermarket rims, such as NISMO, they will do it as long as you have the OEM size tires on them.
My car has NISMO rims, but the warranty is void because the tires are a different size. I would have to put back my old rims and tires.
Luckly, I still have them so I'm going to bring the rims and tires and have them mounted so that they can do the alignment adjustment.
Unfortunately, for you, the warranty is void unless you find some OEM rims and tires.
Good luck!

the only way to void your warranty is for nissan or whomever to trace the problem to your upgrade. in this case the wheels.
for instance: if your cold air intake sucked up water and hydrolocked your motor, your screwed. brakes sqeek all the time, how many miles do you have? they may just need to be adjusted, cleaned or replaced. hope this helpd

i have 14,000 miles, and it is just one brake- it squeaks from 0 to about 40 mph. and i do have the original rims and tires- i was just wondering if im gonna have to mount those every time i go in for something or not. and also, are little things like the brake adjustment or cleaning covered by the warranty, or is that on me. this is my first "newer" car that still has a warranty, so i am really unsure how it works. thanks again for all the help guys!

The brake squeak is easy to correct with the nissan shim kit that sells at the dealer for about $20 bucks. The warranty on the tires is only for the stock rims and if you have NISMO suspension installed they will still warranty it. But, if there is aftermarket suspension they want the car brought back to the original tires and rims. So, if you ahve aftermarket tires and they are experiencing wear you are really getting nothing for your money since the alignment is fine. The problem is with the stock tires with the 140 tread wear rating. Way too soft and the double lower ball joint design that does not control toe worth anything.

no, ive had no problem with my tires at all. was just wondering about the brakes and anything that might come up in the future.

the wheels you have shouldn't have any effect on your brake situation.as for feathering i doubt you'll be able to take advantage og the free alignment should you start having feathering.it's like von said nissan sells a kit that should help the squeak.

Opps!
My bad!
I somehow I thought you wanted to know about any warranties, in general, related to the aftermarket tires and rims.
Just ignore my post.
Thanks!
