Q:

Whats the best way to take off front/rear decals?

I'm thinking of purchasing the stillen wing type 1 for my roadster... any thoughts on stillen wings?

A:

Hair dryer, low heat and a use a low abrasive cleaning compound.

I took striped decals off the entire sides of my Tacoma truck.

Just take your time and it will come off perfect!!!!

Are you referring to the front & rear emblem badge?

My SB ZR still feels like HEAVEN....what a wild ride!

A:

yeh the emblem badges...

zpoe - i heard the hair dryer part before but not the cleaning compund - any suggestions on what type or brand of compound?

A:

I think it was Meguires' Cleaning Compound? It was about 5 years ago.

Don't use anything like Dupont Rubbing Compound... it will take your paint off down to the plastic/metal.

RoadsterShowOff...Do you have any pics of a ZR with a Stillen wing?
Or...a Stillen wing pic? I'm not sure what they look like.

I heated mine up with hair dryer. Used fishing line, and then rubbed and used lighter fluid to remove the rest of the glue residue. Last time I tried Glue be gone it melted the clearcoat and it was dull ever after. Be careful with that stuff if you plan on using it. Always wash with water anytime you apply solvent to your painted surfaces.

You will end up with a hole in your decks that will either have to be covered over or you will have some body work / paint to do.

Maybe the stillen wing covers this area. If it does; not a problem. ;)

Just go slow at it. Take your time.

I used dental floss, seesawed back and forth took about 30 minutes, broke a lot of floss but it is gentle, no scratches. I rubbed the adhesive with my fingers then waxed itl
The advantage of a roadster is there is no hole that has to be covered in the back.
