A&Q about 350Z
Q:
i wouldn't say the g35 is MUCH more expensive. i looked at both before i bought my Z and it was about the same price range.
i ended up going with the z because it looks sportier.
A:
MSRP's for each base model:
z - $27450
g35c - $33050

Question: Is the 350Z more expensive than the G35
Short Answer: No
Long Answer: Well, it depends on what level you are referring to. The variance in price ranges for car's these days is incredible. I mean "start's at 25,988" could mean that a fully loaded model could cost close to $40,000. Then you are in a whole different demographic. The neat thing about the Z is, if you are making working mans wages, like me, you can still afford the sweet looking car. And that's what it's all about. I could care less about the leather, the BOSE surround (which apparently sucks), the heated/power seats, the bigger wheels. See, in my opinion, it is always better to buy the car at or near entry level, then upgrade it yourself. It is much more custom this way and you can pick and choose the things you want at a far greater price.
So if you are asking which one is more expensive, you are asking the wrong question. The question is, do you want a true sports car or a fancy sports sedan? Once you have answered that, then you can start worrying about price.

i like the heated leather seats, nagivation system, and cargo convenience package.
in fact, i'll never own another car without the nav. even if i have to buy one myself.

If you don't have the Bose how do you know it sux? It sounds pretty significant to me with six speakers and the sub behind my seat. If you live in a cold climate the heat seats are really a plus and the 18" stock wheels look pretty nice until one decides to upgrade to an after market wheel.

my dad has an 03 350z and his one complaint was the bose system, but i have the 05 and i guess they must have "fixed" it because i think it's great.

Well, G35 is more expensive but the lease payments on G35 is lower than lease payments on fully loaded 350Z. I'm thinking I like to test drive a G35 6MT just to see how they drive compare to the Z.

If you play with options and trim levels the 350Z can be more expensive. A gran touring roadster with no options costs $40,000, thats about the same as a fully loaded G35 coupe. Throw some options on top of that and your looking at nearly $45,000.

Ahh...I don't need fancy options. Some may. I don't mind. The lines and the color speak for themselves. The glamour is not for me. Most factory stereos don't cut it for me. Some are nice. Bose makes a decent system. I guess what I meant by "it sucks" was relative value. If you take that money you spent on a Bose to a car audio place and build yourself a custom component system and it will sound way better than Bose. What you pay for with Bose is the user friendly aspect of it. Bose is not very compatible with other stuff and it is very "sedated" in it's diversity and sound dynamic. It is hard to EQ a Bose the way I like because all they offer are "Bass" "Treble" "Fade" and "Balance". But to each his own. It is a good system, just not a good value and doesn't suit me.
